Mike Bloomberg. I wanted Pete Buttigeig to win it but I didn't get what I want
Okay, that was pretty good, I laughed.

> country that perfected these damn things
Note how I did not say "invented". It was a fairly common weapon used by the Soviets in WW2 and it sure as hell wasn't made by sticking a rag into a bottle with gasoline.

if they want to negotiate it might mean the situation is worse for Russia than it appears.
No, its an offer. He's clearly aiming to make the entire country his puppet, so he is all but handing the opportunity to the current leader to be said puppet. He's made his point, why not offer now and lose nothing else? He's in the best position of strength to do it.

It's hilarious how you think that Trump, a man who continues to kiss the ass of Putin to this day, would stand up to him. Republicans gonna Republican, though. I know, you love Dear Leader a lot and you Republicans love to be grifted, but man, get some dignity.
You still haven’t answered the question, which I also raised in a direct and civil response.

If Trump was Putin’s puppet, and Putin knew he could do whatever he wanted without retaliation from America (because he’s the one giving Trump orders), why didn’t he invade during Trump’s presidency?

Ukrainians will gladly die on the front lines just for a chance of taking one or two russians down with them.
This isn't going to be a repeat of Afghanistan and Kabul
You're right. It isn't a repeat.

It's worse. Russia is magnitudes more well equiped than the Taliban.

Think about the recent actions. You don't arm civilians if things are going peachy.

IIRC we insisted they take the deal because proliferation bad.

In hindsight having a nuclear-armed buffer state next to russia would've been an outstanding move, but our government were all retards back then.

And now too.
Hohols didn't have the launch codes nor the means to maintain the bases and Ukraine has been one of the most corrupt shitholes in Europe since its independence. It was a disaster waiting to happens.

They're offering Kiev a surrender deal less than 24 hours after the start of the operation. It's pretty clear that the terms outlined in that deal are exactly what they want to accomplish anyway (neutral buffer state with no NATO and no weapons, aligned to Moscow).

How is offering a peaceful surrender to someone you've spent 1 day annihilating a sign of a bad situation lol

If anything it's good optics, shows that you tried to end the conflict. If they refuse to discuss surrender then Russia can be like "well we TRIED but you guys were just too stubborn" and blow up some more shit.
