So let's say Ukraine survives all of this... do you think the civilians will get to keep the AK's and shit?

No one got free AK's in the Ukraine. That stuff is half way to Africa and the middle east by now.

Lot of people here saying "why should we care about Ukraine?"
Well:
  • Crimea now Russian
  • Hong Kong now Chinese
  • Afghanistan now RU/CN aligned taleban
  • LNR
  • DNR
  • Africa now supported by B&R Initiative and CN development spending
At what point do we say that the west has broadly given up on being a major international player? America and its allies will soon find themselves dangerously irrelevant and cut off from setting the rules. In 50 years, your children will install WeChat and be surveilled by TenCent, the same way that America currently has with Google, Apple, Facebook, etc. When Taiwan's current population grows old and dies they will end up voluntarily joining China, the dominant economic and political force rather than sit as a peer to a west that's a shadow of it's former self.

Pics of "I hope Russians kill you *wave flag*" is degenerate "surrender to communism to own the libs" posting. America get your house in order rather than cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Hilarious disconnect from reality. To be 100% honest, it sounds like America is withdrawing from shithole welfare states. Oh, africa is taking chink loans? Those proto-niggers don't care about debt. They murder each other over fucking soccer balls.

China will learn just like every single empire on earth learns, the world is too big a conquest; all of humanity is too big a conquest.

What do you guys think?

Russia has air superiority which means Ukrainians forces will find it difficult to move. Russia will pin the strong forces e.g. those around kharkov in place allowing mobile forces to run wild elsewhere. Spec ops will do spec ops stuff too, mostly achieving nothing useful or getting killed but feeling cool and bad ass while doing it while artillery wins the war.

I like how conservatives who would usually be for military intervention were waving the peace flag as Biden saberrattled and now that he pussed out they have to scramble to decide what position they will take. Meanwhile leftists have given up defending Biden and are just reporting or running antitrump stories.

Hitler's Germany wasn't selling England the fuel oil they needed to keep their Navy running.

Russia holds a lot more cards here than Nazi Germany ever did, and throwing bodies into a conflict, when we have a real fuckin' bad track record in the last twenty years of accomplishing anything with that, isn't going to fulfill some fucking prophecy about the mythical premature defeat of Hitler that people have written a million pages of pseudointellectual fan fiction about.

Read another history book.
Starting from the assumption that Hitler was some kind of great evil usually is a good indicator someone is either ignorant to history or arguing in bad faith. With quite a bit of certainty Europe would be in a much better geopolitical position if England allied with Germany and didn't allow America in to rape it and the rest of Europe. People, for some reason, just assume things would be somehow unbearably bad if Germany was allowed to bake a few more of yahweh's favorite cookies, or that things would be better if the innocent cookies wrongly implicated in 109 crimes, and banned in totality from England for centuries, weren't baked at all. Not meaning to imply that cookie baking was the primary focus of the war at the time for most factions, nor happened to the extent that the victors decided to record, that's just its modern popular moral vector though which it is understood, again, for some strange reason.

Could other countries step up and produce fertilizer, or does it require a natural resource that's heavily concentrated in Russia, or something like that?

Not rhetorical, I honestly have no idea.
I would imagine short term, absolutely. They should probably be able to ramp up production, but that throws into the question is canada gonna go back to normal or is the trucker stuff gonna spread. Might be something to keep your eye on. Mostly i would imagine it's just gonna help drive up the price of everything that is farmed.

Fucking wild how all this shit sort of feeds into things, the world is a very connected place in many ways.
