MovieBlob has always been a shady sack of shit. Before he became yet another social justice clone, he was yet another Old Man Retrogamer clone. You've no doubt heard the people who think everything after 2007 is shit, but what you may not know is that this attitude goes all the way back to the turn of the millennium when people thought everything after 1997 was shit, and Blobbie Chipeater was quite squarely in the latter camp. For years he's lamented the fall of Holy Nintendo's industry dominance and the shift from sprite-based to polygon-based game design. And, like Razorfist ironically enough, he's criticized the philosophy of nostalgia goggles then immediately followed with "but things really were better back then!"
But his old man justifications are hardly the biggest issue. MovieBlob's major, recurring sin is his subtly condescending and manipulating narratives towards Things MovieBob Doesn't Like. A clear example is in the episode "Worst Person" where, after explaining why he feels the first person gaming format is inferior (which, admittedly, does have some interesting points here and there) he proceeds to monologue over several minutes of Call of Duty, with zero footage from any other FPS games save for a half second of DOOM. He goes for the lowest hanging fruit to construct the most transparent strawman possible. [Or would that be the most opaque strawman possible, since it's the thing that's blatantly visible here? -Ed]
The worst, however, was a comment he left at the very end of a video I can't remember. [Something with "Rising Sun" in it, like one of BoovieGob's many Japanese supremacy spergfests IIRC. -Ed] It was probably how awesome Nintendo games were for being rainbows of utopian fun or something like that, but anyway he made the most insultingly blanket comment against PC games (which he vocally despises for the reason that he didn't play them, which is just the stupid fucking thing) I have ever heard: that PC gaming was personified by grey and brown militaristic "realism" and was responsible for infecting the game industry with it, or something along those lines. You know how all those minorities felt when Tim Schaffer made his little sock pupppet joke? Well I bet that's how Tim would have felt if he heard MovieBlobOfCancerousShit's utterly vile dismissal of his hard work on one of the most celebrated video game franchises of all time, along with so many other colorful and imaginative PC games within the adventure genre and many others that made it so special back in the 20th century before the industry turned it into a meaningless AAA console dump.
Bob Chipeater has built a career on cancerous lies, abhorrent hypocrisy and disgusting bias. The fact that he, a died-in-the-wool mainstream-hobbling Suburban Sarkeesian feminist defended Metroid: Other M (I kid you not, it was a two-parter called "Heavens to Metroid"), the one game where Polygon philosophy can be legitimately applied to it, due in obviously no fucking part his insatiable lust for all things Nintendo and Japanese, [I think you meant to use dashes or parenthesis instead of commas here. -Ed] make it clear as motherfucking day Blobosphere Chipmung has absolutely no regard for reality itself outside of his own warped dimension of childish delusion and self-aggrandizing megalomania. Fuck him and anyone who considers him a voice of reason or goodness or anything useful to the human race outside serving as a counterexample of legitimately admirable lifestyle and mentality.
