Anyone who doesn't recognize this and is too dumb even to look at a map and realize what the strategic significance of Ukraine being NATO and having a border with Russia, hasn't been paying attention since probably they were born, because you'd have to be like mentally 12 not to realize this.

He also doesn't just feel threatened, having a NATO Ukraine directly adjacent is not just a feels threat, but an actual threat.

My issue with what you're saying is that if he takes Ukraine he absolutely WILL have a western border that is NATO. He's gonna have to be satisfied with Ukraine functioning as a puppet speedbump, rather than ever trying to fully integrate it back into a resurgent Russian empire. Which is interesting, because his justification over all this has been waxing about how Ukraine is traditionally Russian or some shit.
