It doesn't seem that deep to me, and she definitely wasn't (Canadian) Mirandized. It has nothing to do with her being a victim or not. She's obviously a victim of Nader's no matter what she did, who she is, how many things she bought, or how many times she went back.

Isn't the bullshit about him asking his PO for permission to move just nonsense speculation from her chat? His story was always that he was going to court to punish Chantal.

There is nothing for her to get in trouble for. There's no reason for her not to tell them about the drug use. She isn't going to get in trouble for using drugs six months ago. She didn't do anything illegal to Nader. He has no case against her in civil or criminal court, and no money to do anything anyway.

I think it's a pretty normal reaction to be uncomfortable at the thought of getting someone arrested, even if they're a total piece of shit. She is probably also scared of what he'll do. He was ranting to her about Delphine getting him arrested, being his worst enemy, blah blah. He probably flat out told Chantal that he would have gone after Delphine had she not been dead when he got out. He's also threatened to kill her multiple times, even specifically in regards to filing an RO. I don't think any of her emotions or reactions today have been strange.

Hopefully he's already arrested and we can move the fuck on without seeing his slop or hearing his horrible voice ever again. He can go back to being the head of the cellblock, motorcycle can artist, and barber. She will probably idealize him at some point and regret going to the cops, but she'll likely forget about him and move on in short order. BPD means no object permanence. Out of sight, out of mind.

My bet is that she completed a “statement” of what happened and when, and the detective probably advised her that her statement would become part of the evidence if it went to trial - not that it would be used “against her” just that it would become part of the official record.
