During the wars in Afghanistan we went out of our fucking way to protect civilians and limit collateral damage. If there was a way to tie the hands of our soldiers and Marines so they couldn't do what needed to be done, we did it. For all the reeeeeeeing from bleeding hearts, the western coalitions in both nations treated the Iraqis and Afghanis with kid gloves.

And now both countries are ruled by regimes that still don't like us.

Meanwhile the Russians bombed and shelled Chechnya into the fucking ground. They went and shot any man with a beard who wasn't enthusiastically waving a Russian flag hard enough. They made Grozny look like Detroit; they specifically developed armored tactics for urban combat that revolved around shooting anything that even looked remotely like a Muslim with every gun, from AAA to artillery pieces, that they saw. They raw-dogged Chechnya into submission.

And now they have over 10,000 Chechens chomping at the bit to go fuck up some Ukrainians. I'll give it to the Russians, they certainly know how to win the respect of the people they bomb into the neolithic era.
If you compare the US invasion that left 3k dead in the middle east vs this Russian invasion which has left less than 150 dead via pro Ukrainian forces that's astounding. US took weeks, Russia is taking days to a week maximum and doing it with such minimal civilian casualties. It's impressive whether one approves or disapproves.

Russia is no different than the West in that regard (just poorer). We will have ESG, social credit system and multiculti in no time. Churkas are being imported by hundreds of thousands (and are allowed to terrorize natives), banks and services are starting to track carbon footprint of our purchases, future digital ruble will have spending (((incentives))).But hey, you can't wave LGBT flag omg based!
Not saying I root for Russia to take over Europe, but you'd be retarded to want Americas cronies to conquer the world.

...ok but how does Putin intend to permanently keep whatever he supposedly wants?
Russia clearly wants the eastern provinces of Ukraine to become independent satellite states of the Russian Federation or to be annexed completely. I wouldn't be surprised if he wants to help solidify his hold on Crimea by establishing a direct land route to Crimea via the South Eastern states.

A little known fact about Crimea is it used to produce wine and agricultural goods, but after it joined the Russian Federation the Ukrainians dammed the fresh water rivers the area was dependent on.

By capturing Kyiv and occupying most of Ukraine temporarily he can probably force concessions from the Uke's, while also damaging enough infrastructure and blooding their nose enough to ensure they don't become an immediate problem.

Since that time, Crimea has been running out of drinking water, and Moscow isn't happy about it.

A fluid backstory: Crimea is a sea-girdled peninsula of arid steppes and salty marshes. For decades, a Soviet-era canal brought Crimea 85 percent of its freshwater from rivers on the Ukrainian mainland.

There's an Isekai manga about Putin being reincarnated in a fantasy universe, where he runs around shirtless and ripped like Schwarzenegger during his early years and beats up and mounts dragons and other fantasy animals.

It's as absurdly stupid as it sounds. It's been running monthly for 4 years now.

The Ride-On King.

Additional info: Hungarian border is closed by Ukraine to prevent conscriptable men from fleeing.
They do realize that they have nowhere to train them now? Or they gonna give them shovels and tell to die for The Emperor Ukraine, like kriegs?

dont need a lot of training for simple assignment such as "take this rifle, sit in that bunker, shoot enemy troops on sight"

sure they'd be worthless for most operations, but simple guard duty on fortified positions can be done by amateurs, especially when supervised by real troops.

...ok but how does Putin intend to permanently keep whatever he supposedly wants?

If he wants to get rid of Zelensky, what's to stop his successor from getting ousted immediately? Do the Russians intend to re-install or replace any puppet they put in place?

If he wants just the eastern half of the Ukraine, does he intend to keep an occupying force there and either annex that territory outright or form an Eastern Ukrainian state with its own leader? If so, he's going to have to keep troops there to prop up the new state.

This is what I don't get. What's the long-term strategy here? Do the Russians really intend to essentially occupy all of or part of the Ukraine for the next decade or two?
I'd say their ideal outcome is taking away all of Ukraine's access to the Black Sea and conquering the parts in the East that (allegedly) want to belong to Russia. Leaving the rest as a landlocked dud with a crippled infrastructure. I still don't think Russia is going to succeed with whatever it is that they're doing, even though the gains are happening fast for now.

Russia is no different than the West in that regard (just poorer). We will have ESG, social credit system and multiculti in no time. Churkas are being imported by hundreds of thousands (and are allowed to terrorize natives), banks and services are already starting to track carbon footprint of our purchases, future digital ruble will have spending (((incentives))). All the choices you get are flavors of globohomo tranny state, slav-arab emirate and chink hive. Every country in the developed world seems to be heading the way of authoritarianism. Some are already there and have opposing values, which makes them seem "based". The information war age sucks.

They do realize that they have nowhere to train them now? Or they gonna give them shovels and tell to die for The Emperor Ukraine, like kriegs?

They are talking about "conscriptible men" in the press release. But almost certainly the real concern is people in the army deserting and/or fleeing.

All of this just shows that western democracies are fucking weak and ripe for the taking in the long run.

Globohomeo has run its course and all the economists and assorted retards who sais war is unthinkable in 2015+7 just look even more retarded.

I pray that the blodshed stops soon but the U.S. and the E.U. are at fault for allowing it to happen.
After the disastrous Afghanistan pullout, Biden looks weak, which means it's probably going to be a free-for-all out there.
