"No alterior motive" they said.
"The media's not up to something in condemning Russia" they said.
They're also ignoring the fact that within an hour of the invasion the Ukrainian government was asking its civilians to sacrifice themselves to fight the Russians, as all benevolent governments do.

I mean I respect Ukraine and its troops, but objectively speaking it's not possible that Russia would have as much trouble as they're claiming they are. The Ukrainian military's way, way behind Russia's in terms of tech and spending. Doesn't mean their soldiers aren't brave, but bravery doesn't matter much when all their tanks are rusted and their helicopters barely work.

For the same reason the US was funding research in Chinese government labs in Wuhan. There is lots of medical research that is considered illegal or unethical in the
United States. But that the medical industrial complex in the US wants the research done. So they hire foreign labs and foreign scientists to do the research which
can't be done in the US.
Ukraine offers a cheap educated workforce, almost no news coverage and a live-and-let-live attitude if things go wrong in the research.

Mostly yes but also no. Clearly lies are being told, like how its now turning out that he supposedly annihilated VDV force is linking up with Russian spearhead. Yet Ukraine is clearly not Iraq. Heavy casualties are being suffered, reportedly 50% among that same VDV force. Images of destroyed Russian armored vehicles circulate, tactical Ukrainian victories have occurred, even if small in scale.

One of two things is going to happen today: either the Russians will decide that resistance is light enough that they can take Kiev on the march and go for it, or they're going to going to get a bloody nose, say fuck it, bring up the artillery, and start recreating Second World War photography.

One thing I've noticed is how calm people seem to be in these videos. Maybe that's normal, but it'd make it tough for the government to spin the narrative of Russians terrorizing and killing civilians when everybody on the ground seems like they feel relatively safe despite an actual invasion happening. That or they just don't really care.
