Darth Talon's removal from the sequels is baffling to me. Think about it, a strong, badass, female character with an actual motivation who's also the main villain of the story. Everybody would have eaten that shit up. Maybe Kennedyfilm hated her for being too attractive and unabashedly evil. Also something to do with convincing Han and Leia's son to join the dark side by fucking him. But I guess you can't remake ANH with brand new characters that don't fit into the character tropes set up by that movie. I'm pretty sure that's why Lando is nowhere to be seen in TFA.

Instead we got lame-ass Captain "looks like a guy and made to sell toys" Phasma, a character nobody cares about or remembers. And all because Talon was too sexy.

Just look at Soviet Modernist buildings and put a speeder out front, that should be accurate enough. It's crazy that buildings made by weirdos in the 20s and 30s somehow look more like science fiction than actual films and series made in the genre.

Something that NuWars seems to have forgotten is that Bounty Hunters are moreso independant law enforcement than they are straight-up mercenaries.#

TLJ could have started 10 years later, with a fleet of Republic ships chasing the last of The First Order down. With Rey a trained Jedi next to Luke and an army of new Jedi. That'd probably make more sense than, "The First Order Reigns."

JJ also made TFA's ending an obvious lead-in to the beginning of the next film, and whilst a timeship would've been better for the story as a whole it would just feel jarring since you just skip over what happens next when that's what a large amount of the fanbase is looking forward to.

the designs themselves look cheap as shit, some weirdo in the UK made a sci-fi porno series by just decking out a spare bedroom with the goofiest shit he could find at the local electronics supply store and this building looks just as quality.

its like when RLM talked about how the latest Bruce Willis film looks as bad as Space Cop, the entire dynamic looks like a shitty student film. Star Wars should have had some money put into it, when they built the Star Trek set for Las Vegas, they straight up said, "build a set that could double for television" despite knowing they wouldn't actually use it for television because they just wanted the feel for their fans.

People's expectations were that this hotel would look as good as a 1970s Sci-Fi film, instead it looks like they let Mike, Rich and Jay design everything.

Add one more caveat to it: They let RLM design the place without telling them what the place is specifically for, and then not give them a budget beyond what they had for Space Cop at best.

Seriously, I'm just skimming a bit and it feels like a 90s TV set, and it's NOT where I'd want to be hotel wise. When I go to a hotel for a stay longer than a night or two, I want some comfort and looks. If it was Naboo or even Jabba's crack shack, that'd have some vibes. But nope; the set of some Battlestar or Star Trek bootleg made in 1992.

No one who's starred in anything, but you get some also-rans who are costars.
When I saw it, the Mariner was played by ... I want to say it was one of Vin Diesel's Stunt Doubles and Helen was played by some actress who was a supporting role in one of the about to be released Universal A-list movies. Deacon was also played by some general stuntman.

Its people cheap enough Universal has them on salary and needs to have SOMETHING for them to do.
