80 Marines? There's no fucking way a small ass island has a garrison of 80 marines.

Its apparently a training base so maybe they caught a group there for said training? But again assume bullshit until confirmation otherwise with all things from official sources

1. Shots are too far away. Could be captured uniforms for all I know.
2. Why would the Ukrainians station an 80 man garrison on a small remote island off the coast of the black sea? 80 take alot to feed and equip over an extended period of time where a garrison of 13 would be enough to patrol the island, keep it secure and you can resupply them every week not every day.
3. These are marines, the boys from snake island were border guard service. Unless Ukraine went to strike back at said small rock again, wasting the marines in an effort that would obviously get them captured or killed for little value, makes no tactical sense.

This. The lack of activity on the Kiev front today indicates that Russia really doesn't want to get into a city fight. Why the hell are the troops spread out so much? To minimize damage from an aerial bombardment and perform a pincer attack on the capital? Because ukraine is one big field with a massive border with Russia. They gotta cover their flank since they have no natural barriers to provide said cover since they reach the river that splits the country in half. It’s also a way for them to prevent any counter attacks on rusky soil.
