That's kind of why it's a problem. It's clearly being used as a weapon agaisnt anyone that isn't sanctioned by the US and its allies. That's a problem to me.

It's impressive. They're doing it with the B-team sitting in junk that eats petrol like crazy and has to be jury-rigged every 60 miles. And Ukrainians supplied by NATO as we type have the spirit to fight unlike the dune coons in the sandbox.

Although its true that the failure to evacuate from Leningrad was a conscious (and very retarded) decision by Soviet leadership, the idea that the Werhmacht allowed civilians to walk out is laughable to say the least.

Do you honestly think that it is logistically possible to evacuate a metro area during a hot war or in the lead up to it? That clogging logistics networks with a stream of humanity with no food or shelter is feasible. That the military would not completely outstrip it's capabilities running a conga line from Kiev to Poland leaving nothing to fight the Russians with.

Civvies hunker down as the war moves past them. Communications are established through back channels to make sure hospitals and baby asprin factories and whatever aren't wiped out. But even then it gets messy. War is hell.
