Fallout series

I will always be in the camp that says that Lyons was doing the smart thing by adapting the BOS into something else because their original doctrine could only take them so far until they basically enter at war with the rest of the world. F4's BOS seem almost like a course correction from Bethesda because they were tired of people complaining "not my BOS" constantly.
Well, that's the entire point of Veronica's quest in New Vegas, a game created by Avellone and Sawyer. Hiding in a bunch of bunkers only to emerge as a tech-snatching boogeyman pisses people off, and eventually you'll fuck up and piss off people with a lot of firepower. There's a reason, even without doing anything Veronica, that New Vegas specifically points out their lack of numbers and insularity as a reason why they're getting fucked by the NCR. Who might as well be the entire rest of the world in the West, and its going about as well for them as you'd imagine.

Yeah, if House is telling the truth the NCR loses entire platoons trying to take down BoS bunkers with success not guaranteed. But something tells me the NCR has more platoons than the BoS has bunkers to hide in...

Yeah the NCR obviously has thousands of soldiers in the Mojave, maybe more than 10,000... BOS has a few dozen members at their hidden, last bunker. Even if one BOS member in power armor can take out a dozen or two dozen NCR soldiers, not all the BOS people have power armor, in a final battle scenario they could kill a decent amount of a large NCR force but they'd still lose by getting zerged like they did at Helios One if by no other way

How would you even make a sequel to NV? It’s not like the older games where the main ending was always the same regardless of the side quests. There are hordes of people for every major faction in NV that will inevitably be pissed off when told their ending is non-canon.

I doubt it'll actually be "Fallout: New Vegas 2" but more of a spiritual successor and made by the same general team. It'll probably be set far away enough from Nevada so that the ending of the first New Vegas won't matter. Personally I'd rather them just grow a pair and decide on one canon ending.

The main game could end differently in all previous fallout games tho. At least to the same degree as NV's "Choose your color!" does lol

New Vegas ending is almost entirely pointless as a major point of the game is that neither NCR nor CL could survive "winning" Hoover Dam.

It honestly makes far more sense that New Vegas will become independent regardless of what happens, and that House would "disappear" either through death or moving on towards the stars.

That being said, I doubt it will be an actual sequel to New Vegas.

The "NV being for trannies" meme got picked up by all the people ass blasted the frontier bombed and they use it as a cope to own the chuds who dared to find the Frontier suspect

Meming the enclave is now a sign for most of these retards too

Ever since the Frontier bombed the most mentally ill sides of the modding community circled the wagons and try to somehow act smug in the face of mainstream meming and mockery, too bad that some of the people autistic enough to keep fixing new vegas are part of these circles, but you can always just archive what they delete or holdover and play kek

To anyone celebrating that "OMG, FNV 2 IS FINALLY HAPPENING", sorry to burst your bubble but NV was the definition of a lightening in a bottle type game.

Meaning it was the perfect combination of several aspects, it happened at the best time with the best team.

And guess what, said best team doesnt exist anymore. Almost everyone has either retired or went off to other companies or making their own.

Best case scenario and we new a "NV 2" (idk how that would even work but I digress), the writing would be slightly above Bethesda tier at best. Im not saying it would be bad, simply..."decent"...which in a way sounds worse than being outright bad.

People need to understand that New Vegas felt like the swan song of true RPG games. The curtain was closing the New Vegas at least felt like a good balance between action and RPG elements. Modern devs just arent good at dealing with how RPGs function, hence why its usually action with light RPG elements now. There are some exceptions here and there but, ultimately, it is what it is. Not that FNV 2 cant be an exception but, after Outer Worlds was just okay-ish, people saw that Obsidian isnt what they used to be anymore. Now sure, OW could just be a dud and the sequel could blow us out of the water.

I think my point is to keep expectations low, which seems to be motto for modern gaming and especially the 2020's, because you just cant really expect goodness that comes from passion in a passionless industry

Okay okay, so, Im sorry but I gotta share this.

Not sure if this is common knowledge it but I just found out about it.

So, get this, apparently, when Fallout 3 was the hot new thing, some journalists saw the artwork of a destroyed DC and, I shit you not, legit thought it was made by terrorists as a warning. Since it had no watermark to show it was made by Bethesda for their game.

Im legit laughing outload, how can they be that stupid? Actually, no, dont answer that. It was a rhetoric question.

I've said it before but even New Vegas has completely aged like shit, the atmosphere was top tier but everytime I've tried to play it again it's felt like an absolute slog to get past the first few hours of the game into the meat and bones of the game. I know some of you fags will tell me to just mod it, but it's the CORE GAME itself I have issues with. For some reason I cannot stop playing Fallout 4 over and over again no matter how shit the core storyline actually is, and I really think it's down to the fact that Fallout 4 was a living, breathing world and yet once you clocked that an incredible amount of New Vegas was simply desert with spawn zones then the entire illusion just breaks and you realise how fucking annoying it is to get from point A to point B again.

That's because the NV community is well and truly infested by insufferable trannies. Remember: NV was voted reddit's favourite game back in the day, these are the kind of people who define it.
In a way I hate that they have. They took a game I genuinely enjoyed and made it their fucking identity. It's almost like a cult.

That's the difference between Fallout 4 and New Vegas on a deeper level. True Fallout kino would be world building and storyline as good as NV with a living world as good as FO4.

you see for me the exact opposite fallout 4 is so fucking dull to me probably because I'm simply not impressed by its gameplay loop and find it empty and unengaging

Since we are talking about remakes and what not. InXile should really REALLY do a Fallout 1 remake. They could reuse the Wasteland 3 engine and make the game more tactical so that it atracts the Xcom crowd, even then a remake like that would be a perfect excuse for any zoomer to not play the originals.

Yeah it just takes away from the game. Like even with mods fallout 4 just feels like a chore to play. Meanwhile you go back to playing fallout 3 and it feels less like a chore to play.

Honestly people crap on the NCR at times but as a faction lore wise they're the Soviet union in WW2 of fallout. They can just throw men with rifles, mortars/light artillery and solve all their problems.

Probably not gonna happen but I hope in a theoretical New Vegas 2 they allude to a Legion victory in the Mojave because that could lead to interesting story opportunities. Either in a full on Legion NCR war or a collapsing Legion with fragmented successor states

Aren't those tactics exactly why they're losing so bad it only worked with the brotherhood and raiders because they're so small in numbers and/or under equipped the legion are (despite what reddit would have you believe) a competent well equipped military force large in numbers with talented military commanders running circles around Oliver and a very developed intelligence network running circles around anything the ncr could muster in that field
