Russia is mostly keeping its mouth shut which tells a story all on its own

(it's not a rosy one for putinbros)
Honestly this, people say that the Russians advancing quickly disproves that it's not going entirely to plan, but Putin legit thinks that Ukrainians are Russians and even wrote an essay on it fairly recently. He might be seeing much more civilian resistance than he expected, while also having higher causalities despite advancing fairly quickly.
And I really like the thought of Putin realizing he got himself in a forever war because he thought Ukrainians all across the country would see him as a supreme liberator and suddenly identify as Russian.

The Eternal Kievan will never forgive the Muscovite for uniting the Rus instead of him.

I think this situation is opening the eyes of a lot of Putin fanboys that he's not always some sort of amazing 3D chess calculating genius. I mean, he's a smart dude, but at the end of the day he's ex KGB power addict "Russia defender of the Slavs" dude who constantly moans about cementing his legacy. Edit to say he isn't immune to delusion or irrationality.

tbh the fact that we haven’t even really heard from putin seems pretty bad to me.

If Putin had stuck to the eastern regions of Ukraine, his calculus might even be correct. Kyiv, however, is an entirely different beast, and firmly belongs in the Ukrainian, and therefore anti-Russian camp.

I get that Lil Rubio is a big deal in the Senate Intelligence Committee but... it's Lil Rubio. Anyone else think he likes the fact people are suddenly treating him as a reliable source on Ukraine news? (tweet)

A friend of mine who is a Latin Mass sperg was going to a Ukrainian Catholic church in LibCity USA in 2013-4 and ended up noping out quietly when they started taking up a second collection to fund the Ukrainian fighters. Like buying weapons etc.

That moment made a big impression on me. The folks at the church seemed real nice and normal but wtaf. Imagine if the Russian Orthodox parish was taking up Pennies for Putin (they don't- I have multiple sources confirming as much.)
That's not that uncommon, a ton of Irish bars collected money for the IRA during the troubles and mosques do it for the Israel/Palestine conflict.

like which Russian rulers? (btw the czar will iced by jewish bolsheviks fyi).
You are confusing him with Alexander II, who was actually killed by a Jewish supremacist group. And yes I understand the Jewish bolshevist meme.

They are ethnically the same people. Genetically. Culturally they might be opposed but they are all Slavic. Belarus tried to fight Russia but Russian banks bought out theirs in the late 90s.

You might not get a forever war, you might get a permanent stalemate.

That's funny, the disinformation seems to be flowing mostly from one direction, the same direction most disinformation seems to flow: The Side Western Elites Favour.
I dunno. There was this really long period where the disinfo was "we are just training, honest. took a wrong turn at albuquerque." when people noticed an obvious large military buildup preparatory to an invasion.

I will say the Ukrainian disinfo is much dumber than the Russian stuff though.

There's always been a lot of collections for "brave resistance" in churches in liberal areas.

Friend of mine used to bitch about his church taking up money for various Central American rebel groups, all done by people who were like 2nd generation or hadn't been back in 20 years and didn't realize that half the time there were people in the Mass who had fled those very groups.

I'm pretty sure the life expectancy of the average Russian male doesn't really apply to Putin.

If you're in the United States I'm pretty sure engaging in cyber attacks of this nature is still illegal even if the target is abroad.

Incidentally, Gazprom does appear to be under a denial-of-service attack of some kind at the time of writing this.

Uh, I know Ukraine is under a lot of pressure right now but this seems super fucking gay.

Being anti free-speech to own the ruskies is shit optics. If you're going after fucking YouTubers - private citizens - you're not going to make many friends out of it.
