Only problem is...you posted a video of a boat and a link to a rando twitter account. This proves nothing.

There are more credible sources that say the island was bombarded with gunfire. And the video doesn't necessarily mean the area wasn't attacked beforehand either.

There were soldiers livestreaming who had their streams cut off.

I don't really give a fuck if Russia doesn't like countries joining NATO It's not up to them, It's Russia's fault for allowing regions it used to control gain independence in the first place.

You mean back when Russia made an agreement with the West not to expand NATO? Russia's fault for trying to do what's best for the people living in those regions and trusting the West!

The issue is going to be maintaining the territory, Ukraine is massive, and these skirmishes. The fact Belarus is putting their own eggs into this is concerning because Nato can fuck them economically too, I think there is going to be a lot of media gayops from within Ukraine from Russia sympathizers to undermine Ukraine.

Belarus is going to be a middle-man for Russia and if not China, so glad to see they are just going full-blown.

FLIR is a name brand, like "Colt" or "Rheinmetall". I doubt ITAR guidelines would allow FLIR to design and market imagers for Russia. I've seen non FLIR infrared systems marked as "IR" or "Infrared" on thermal scopes and control systems for missiles so I would assume the Russians wouldn't use FLIR and just use whatever means infrared or thermal on their systems.
In Russian IR translates to ТП or ТПН, that said current generation Russian IR systems are based on French designs from Thule as yeah FLIR systems sold to non approved military or police have a hard coded FPS limit of 9

Even if Putin win the war, they will lost the peace.
Their economy will take a major hit and the Russian state is now a pariah in Europe. Even shit countries as Germany are waking up to this.
The EU is more united now (heck, even Hungary is now against Putin) and Russia will not be trusted anymore.
Yeah. Germany just announced they plan on spending an additional 100b on defense. Russia spent 70b last year. They also said they're prepared to keep the sanctions up for months. Bundestag seems unusually unified in all of this, the largest opposition basically said "yeah fuck Putin, do whatever you want", in so many words. That's just one country Russia pissed off. Russia is absolutely getting raped in the long run thanks to Putin.

Sounds like Illia might be a liar.

Seems desperate to start throwing their puppet manpower at the enemy
I don't think that Russia can handle it's war expenses at the same as sanctions or if US forces OPEC to increase extraction and lower gas price. I think they cant win in long run, that's why they do everything in their power to rush it.

Ireland, after not long getting it's Republic even took a path of neutrality when WW2 was happening and both factions drew up plans to invade it. Britain even tried offering them Northern Ireland and they still didn't bite and take a side.
Well I did stipulate eventually. One could also bring up the Troubles as another example. Though I don't really want to litigate even an era as recently as the 1980s because Ireland and Britain has changed a lot since even that recently, whereas a lot of Eastern Europe states keep reliving 1945 into the first quarter of the 21st century. Arguably, so do many in the West what with the Hitler Obsession, though the Germans aren't a major player on the board anymore so has less consequences than Russia.

There was never an 'agreement' on this. All the west said was that NATO expansion was not on the agenda after the end of the Cold War. Russians invented this idea that promises were made.

Wow all those countries next to Russia fled to NATO. It can't possibly be Russia is such a shitty neighbor East Europe would rather take their chances with the west right? The Russians are becoming the Jews of European politics. "Everyone around me can't stand me, but I'm the victim!".
Or it could be that it gets you a security guarantee for free underwritten by the American taxpayer, and puts you in good stead for the welfare program known as the European Union which gets you a spot at the trough for some sweet Berlin Bucks
