Yeah, it definitely seems like the longer he stays there the harder it becomes to hold on to his coping mechanisms. And he's still got 5 months to go until his next hearing. If this is what the first half year of jail has done to him, I can't help but wonder what the second half year will do. And further still, I can't help but wonder how he'll react if he convicted and forced to stay in jail even longer. Something tells me he wont go as quietly and calmly as he did when he was arrested if that happens.

I imagine not but it's a weird situation where he's not exactly friends with anyone, he's just some weird guy locals sometimes see and Chris is far more oblivious than the average person, maybe he'll get people shouting stuff at him or keying/graffiting his car? They have no idea what's going on, they can't know what's in the letters unless they read them which THEY ARE NOT DOING. To the guards Chris is just a weird retard who talks about being Jesus whenever they have to interact with them. Anyone who has ever been in jail, worked in a jail, or worked as a defense attorney or a prosecutor will attest that retards like Chris are a dime a dozen. If you go off of retards on KF Chris is up there with the worst but if you have ever interacted with the US legal system for an extended period of time you will meet people who do much, much worse. Chris is nothing compared to people who murder their own parents or their wife and children to have an affair or kidnap, rape and beat to death a toddler with two accomplices. Chris had (as far as the legal system says to our knowledge) consensual sex with his mother. He's charged with a relatively minor crime and being held without bond because he's not allowed home and he's in solitary because if he was in genpop he would get his ass beat just by being himself.

Like I really want to hammer in just how little what Chris sends out matters and how boring of a case this is to anyone who hasn't been following Chris since 2006. I know this has already been said a thousand times but apparently it keeps needing to be said.

Civil commitment will be difficult. You have to be really far gone for that to happen.

That said, we may actually be in mental hospital arc right now and just not know it. The longer Chris stays silent the more I will be convinced that he's been moved for psychiatric treatment. People in custody are the one group that you can send to a state hospital relatively easily since they already have their freedom restricted.

The downside for Chris is that the purpose of this stay would be to make him competent to assist in his defense, not "fix" him (though that could be a happy byproduct).

As we speak Chris may be receiving his first real psychological treatment that he can't ignore.

I've said before that Chris reminds me of GG Allin. To complete this, all Chris has to do is shit on the floor. I wouldn't be surprised if he shit himself while writing the letter.

I can believe it. Chris writing desperately to get out just to celebrate his birthday before 2/24 is very Chris. Now that his birthday has passed, I wonder if he snapped and retreated into hedgehog defense mode, or started punching at his cell wall, trying to mimic the hole he made in his home?
