Even the users of r/breadtube are left bemused by Ollie's negligible amd uncanny FFS, probably because The Tube's too narcissistic to actually commit to the trans grift. You know it's all one big con when even the diehard sycophants can't tell what's been done.

(Oh and nice to meet you all, glad there's a place to discuss this insufferable dipshit who I regrettably share a nation with)
Welcome!

Well I will admit I was wrong, as he apparently is part of the Challenging Pseudoscience group at the RI, headed up by Angela Saini - it wasn't just him appearing on one panel once. I'm not terribly familiar with how groups at the RI function, but the only other event they organised at the RI was a lecture from medical historian Marius Turda about eugenics. They have been active elsewhere, giving lectures and hosting panel discussions at the Association of British Science Writers conference and the British Science Festival. There's some big names involved - Sara Abdulla (Chief Opinion Editor at Nature), Ewan Birney (Director of Genomics England), Gina Rippon (genius neuroscientist who's debunking the concept of brains having gender)... but I'm not sure how involved some of these people are, or if they're maybe just guest speakers. They have a vast range - they're certainly not exclusively focused on covid disinformation.

I don't get the impression that Ollie was heavily involved in the active research part of the project. There's one point where he jokes "this is PhilosophyTube, not ScienceTube" and yeah, it shows. I won't autistically sperg out about how he made tonnes of errors in his scientific explanations, but suffice to say if someone keeps talking about "germs" they're either an idiot or they think you're an idiot and are talking down to you, and he completely misses the mark on topics like generating antibodies against limited viral fragments in the vaccine vs natural immunity after exposure to the entire antigen, or the actual medical concerns about original antigenic sin or how "the virus fragments get eliminated from your body there can't be long term health risks". There doesn't seem to be any trace of this research online and there's no explanation of who the researchers were, but I did find the research itself to be interesting (bit curious as to how a sample size of 10 is useful though - most "cohorts" are only 2 people), although this was diluted by Ollie's rambling approach.

I notice he made a lot of "jokes" about plastic surgery and being trans, which I think is his poor attempt at replicating Contra's wry off the cuff sarcastic jokes. This being Ollie, the jokes were awkward and didn't land.

Speaking of awkward, that silver outfit is inexplicable - I literally can't understand how it relates to the topic at all and he doesn't really acknowledge it beyond preening. Maybe it's supposed to represent "science"? He'd have been better off just putting a lab coat on over his suit (the suit was a rare example of Ollie actually wearing an OK outfit for once). The fluffy pink cardigan at least made some sense (he's "getting cosy") except he paired it with those stupid silver holographic leggings/boots. For anyone freaking out about Ollie "having Contra's wallpaper", this is just damask print wallpaper and is a basic bitch interior design choice liked by Mrs Hinch clones.

I also found the John Oliver impression deeply cringe inducing.

"Human pussy virus" was dumb and he should feel bad for that joke. I sperged on here before (maybe a different thread) that the HPV vaccination programme in the UK is very wide ranging - all Year 8s (including boys) are offered the vaccine, women under 26 can get the vaccine for free, and gay men and trans women (MSM) under 45 can get it for free too. He's complaining that his doctor sends him cervical screening reminders, which once again highlights issues with just completely changing your medical records.

Very confused by him citing Contra's "Beauty" video in reference to the line "Bodily autonomy is all well and good, but what if our body decisions have a really big impact on someone else? That's certainly a concern I've been face-ing lately". I don't see how plastic surgery has any relevance to handling a pandemic. I guess maybe Contra explores the concept that FFS is partially driven by internalised transphobia and self loathing, and the line between dysphoria and just wanting to look more attractive is unclear? So the idea that getting plastic surgery as a trans person to appear more cisnormative is harming other trans people? The other reference is Perfect Me: Beauty As An Ethical Ideal by Heather Widdows, which examines how society places such a high level of expectation on the pursuit of looking beautiful, and sees ugliness as almost a moral failing. Honestly it doesn't make much sense and I think he just wanted to reference that video because he had plastic surgery. (I also hated that he cited himself a couple of times in the video).

I am fascinated that Ollie decided to explore how to effectively win over the vaccine hesitant, when he completely rejects that sort of approach with trans rights ("do what we say now and don't question it").

Ollie is such an obvious case of rapid-onset AGP. He's moved so fast when it comes to surgery, hormones and the LARP (wardrobe change etc). They really f-ed up his nose. I'm sure he's already got the amhole surgery booked. Will patiently await the inevitable 52% following SRS when reality comes crashing down.

My theory. Olly had a nose job as its a bare minimum surgery. He will pretend or hint he had FFM but really it was the bare minimum. That way when trans falls out of fashion and detransing becomes vogue ( its kind of started already) he can go back to a man but wont be in the same boast as contra who went whole hog. He can still play the victim but wont completely look like a Frankensteins monster like other detransitioners. After all many men have nose jobs too.

I will defend Contra forever, cos I laugh like fuck at jokes in the videos , and always have.

Olly is so painfully unfunny, it sits (for me) potentially top it at least joint place first, in his considerable list of other crimes.
Contra does know how to actually write and deliver a joke, unlike Olly. I tried watching Olly back before his whole trans phase and never understood how people sit through his videos.

Yes!!!! I could never watch them when I saw them pop up as recommended when someone linked me contra vids.

I’ve only started hate watching to fuel my seethe. It definitely takes determination

They'd have a stronger claim to being a gender other than their birth gender/sex if they didn't immediately, upon self-radicalization and creating a personality out of created characteristics instead of achieved results, try to carve their bodies into something other than them...it's an instant giveaway. Olly is trying to be a woman by being his male gaze ideal of a woman, and it's sick, it's colonialism of femininity.

There ARE transwomen and there ARE transmen out there, who deserve our respect (or pity, if you don't care). But they are not represented by Olly.

Olly is a man, and he hates women at heart, and he has "become" a woman as an art project to mock women more effectively.
I sometimes see comments to this effect, but I don't really get why some people think Olly is somehow a less honest trans than anyone else? All male-to-female transgenderism just seems to be a sexual fetish thing and always based on this fictitious male gaze thing you mention here. But it could be that I am also uninformed on this. I'm just not sure how Olly is worse than anyone else in this regard. He's occasionally more obnoxious about posting online than someone like contrapoints, but he's no more obnoxious about it than non-famous people highlighted in the sideshows threads.

As an aside, my experience with trans-men though is that they're a lot more reasonable. Idk why that is. This could also just be me not being really informed about them.

ollys weird unhinged rants barely qualify as an argument. its all tangents and random thoughts dragging in the ten dollar words. you can cite as any philosophies as you like but if they dont fit the subject or make any sense in context than its just word salad. so much self indulgent cosplay and dumb bits. i remember him dressing up as a vampire for no reason in his ripping off of jim sterlings unfunny skits. the man has no original material or thought. its just grasping at straws.

I think Olly wears the fetish on his sleeve and Nick is a bit quieter about it, but not much. Olly is a drag show and Nick is a burlesque, or at least those are the airs he likes to put on, because they're both flamboyant drag shows. Discretion around your normal sex life is normal. It becomes dishonest when you're pretending a fetish is not a fetish, and outright deceptive when you're pretending (really selling / proselytizing) that trooning out is just as healthy and natural as not.

More obnoxious or less is subjective. I find subtle, pernicious lying more repugnant. Olly and Nick both are disgusting to me though.

You're right in that you just haven't seen it yet. Aidens are insane. They go into gay men's establishments and start shit. They call homosexual men faggots for not wanting heterosexual sex with a mutilated woman. Take the whining, victimhood entitlement and total lack of agency of women, add testosterone, add chronic nerve pain from 'top surgery', and potentially an underdeveloped brain from 'puberty blockers' and you end up with just as abominable a mockery of nature, give or take a connection to boizu rabu to make a fujoshi.

No amount of nose and brow shaving will make his jaw look any less huge and chad-ly. It's actually quite funny how, in pursuing FFS, he has only succeeded in making his chin and jaw look larger and more unbalanced.

Anyway the video's boring. Who would want to watch a video about vaccinations at this point? Anyone who wanted the vax already has it and is sick of hearing about it, and the people who don't want it aren't going to be watching PT videos. Hbomb already made a big breadtube vax video months ago (which was smartly directed at the autism vax scare and, thus, avoided causing a huge shitstorm while still getting the messgae across about vaccine disinformation and profiteering) and, unlike Olly, Harris isn't constantly dressing up in tacky costumes and gurning like a drunk childrens' tv presenter. His falsetto is horrifically grating. The only people I can forsee viewing this video seriously are self-important middle class twats who already have the jab but want to feel superior to people who don't.

The argument is that gender dysphoria is a real mental illness and that for some people transitioning may genuinely be the best way to reach a better state of mental health. Whether one believes that or not varies, some here do and some don't. Personally I think that for some people, though not many, it is a legitimate thing beyond just fetishism.

You're uninformed. Read about Blanchard's transsexual typology which still plays out very well in reality. Some people these days also posit a third group which is autistic or near-autistic heterosexual young males who fixate on or are groomed into transgenderism without necessarily having autogynephilia; that's up for debate.

Whether that makes non-autogynephiles "honest trans" or not is irrelevant here and usually just leads to long arguments that never go anywhere.

So strange of him to say/imply HPV is a woman thing. Both sexes can get it and it causes penile, oral, throat and anal cancer in men. Especially since he considers himself progressive and some believe boys should be included in routine HPV immunizations too. It's that way in certain places, others don't bother. Instead of making a retarded, unfunny joke he could have advocated it for both sexes in his VACCINE video. He's so crude and sexist. Even his simps are starting to notice. Philosophy Chube indeed.
HPV is implicated in many cancers, including anal cancer, and half of the world's population has it. The vaccine is actually useful and can be great to avoid a cancer diagnosis in the future. Boys as well as girls should be eligible for the vaccine, but instead of making a case about it and how HPV is almost impossible to eradicate he made cheap jokes. Par the course. All he thinks about is himself.

Hard to believe Angela Saini is on a board 'against pseudoscience' when she regularly includes pseudoscience in her books. She will say that biological sex doesn't exist and simp for troons and also argue that race does not exist. Olly being on the same board doesn't shock me. He uses histrionics and solipsism to lie about everything.
I think Olly wears the fetish on his sleeve and Nick is a bit quieter about it, but not much. Olly is a drag show and Nick is a burlesque, or at least those are the airs he likes to put on, because they're both flamboyant drag shows. Discretion around your normal sex life is normal. Aidens more than male troons are adept in grooming other girls online. They are the ones leading the charge to get language changed despite their demure attitude everywhere else. They don't barge into women's spaces but everything they do is passive-aggressive. Jaime Raines has a talk with Danielle Jones, the OG/GYN who moves to NZ and who calls women 'cervix owners', 'vagina owners' and other terms, and her fans eat it up. I see more handmaidens on FTM videos than I do MTFs, and they are a lot more brazen with the former.

Aidens tell women that there is nothing to fear from transwomen and women trust their word more. They are also quieter when the inevitable happens.

MTFs have their narcissism and Dark Triad traits, but Aidens are just so...autistic. And not in a good way. They're obnoxious and entitled, as if they are trying to convince us as well as men that they're 100% true and honest men.
No amount of nose and brow shaving will make his jaw look any less huge and chad-ly. It's actually quite funny how, in pursuing FFS, he has only succeeded in making his chin and jaw look larger and more unbalanced.

He really does resemble Moonman. Ain't nothing you can do for those orbital bones, Olly.

Harris is still a piece of shit but he made his vaccine video in a timely matter. If he revisits it now it'll be in poor taste especially with the Pfizer/Modern revelations that they made serious bank in investing in the creation of the virus and its -ahem- cure.

I think it is worth mentioning as well, HPV vaccine Gardisil accumulated 38,000 VAERS documented adverse events between 2006 and 2014 when it was discontinued due to a lawsuit about some disorder effecting blooding pooling in the heart. Gardisil 9 is the new version I don't know much about it.
INB4 VAERS sperging... just saying...

I was looking at this image :

Screenshot 2022-03-01 at 16.24.27.png

and planning to post it and talk shit on that ugly nude lipstick, but my computer refused to open the jpeg and i had to screenshot it, so I am forced to assume that even my laptop is aesthetically offended by Olly's choices and was only trying to protect me from gazing upon his mug.

Anyway that nude lipstick is awful. There's a reason we stopped putting concealer on our lips in the 00s, it makes your lips look dry and awful. The muted foundation with 0 colour and the nude background just wash him out even more so it looks like his lips have dissappeared into his face, and coupled with his bizarro surgery nose and poor contouring the entire effect is less Princess of TERF island and more He-who-shall-not-be-deadnamed.

As transwomen have no real affinity with bio women and see them purely as a guise they can wear - to be told "you look beautiful" is the highest accolade you can get. I think thats what tube was hoping for deep down and thought that his ffs results would provoke it but no matter how well a troon passes the term beautiful is the sole reserve of the female form. But in general there has been such a muted reaction - even on /tttt/ I expected more cope.

That pooner in ww3 image posted a page back had me laughing manically to myself when I saw it - its so good lol.
