It's actually worse. As stupid as Wu is, there was a kernal of reality behind his comment. Most likely a half remembered recollection of "The moon is a harsh mistress" or the vague knowledge that being further up earth's gravity well makes it easier to launch payloads from the moon to the earth than vice versa. Patty-cakes tweet wasn't even tangentially related to reality

How has Russia not achieved the majority of its objectives at a rapid and unstoppable pace? Every major city in the East is encircled and it's a matter of time before they fall, same for Kiev. They're suing for peace, albeit hilariously ineffectively thus far. So far the US and its client states have done jack and shit that they weren't going to do to Russia even if it backed down.

3 days in and he's calling it for the side that has had it's shit pushed in at light speed.

The US advanced about this fast in Iraq in 03, against a less well equipped military. It took them about a month to level that country against an unprepared and demoralized and far more divided opponent.

It still astonishes me that TV-brained liberals actually think that a problem like war resolves in about an hour and a half.

eh people are fist pumping online bc spectators on both side took ukraine's collapse to be a given absent western intervention. russian supply lines are falling apart several miles outside their own border and a third rate army is preventing any decisive victory, all with NATO twiddling their thumbs and inept US leadership.
a ton of more innocent people are still going to die and another historic european city will still burn so yeah it's definitely not time to be popping bottles. but there's no comparison to US power projection imo.

or I dunno, maybe Putin's plan wasn't to take the whole of Ukraine because taking it and holding it would be too difficult. maybe he achieved his goals by annexing the donbas and his continued offensive is drawing ukrainian resources away from retaking them. My guess is he'll continue for a bit, then theyll make peace and he'll have what he wanted. this is just an attempt to make people believe putins goal was always to conquer ukraine so when he ultimately doesn't they can spin it was a victory
