Street Fighter 6 + Darkstalkers News! - *Morrigan laugh*

Who cares about the opinons of normalfags? I've learned that normalfags can't appreciate anything good and don't care that they don't. It's the reason why we still have capeshit movies made yearly for the past decade and a half.
SF3 was a gigantic failure that put the series on ice. It wasn't beloved for shit, prior to the entire fighting game genre being coopted by FGC and associated faggotry, eg worshipping Third Strike.

It's really a shame, heritage is pure classic CPS2 kino and a summation of their work in 90's fighting games and all star battle was a fun if unbalanced fighter. fuck eyes of heaven though that sucked
JoJo is CPS3

Just play Chronicles on the PSP if you want a TRUE Darkstalkers experience, or hell even 3 on the PS1, missing frames and all. There's no reason to give CAPCOM your money for a Darkstalkers collection after they fucked you in the ass once before with Resurrection.

This is nuCapcom we're talking about. There is no way we are getting the "create a character" and "dating sim" complete with full translation in current year.

Unless you count the times they had you pay for the characters in pieces.

To my knowledge they've only made 3 cameos as actual fighters in different games: Super Gem Fighters, Capcom Fighting Evolution, and SNK vs Capcom Chaos.

Red Earth is something I'm genuinely shocked that nuCapcom actually decided to release on console.

The realism look is nothing new. Remember his "hobo" look in SFV before they scrapped the "realism" style?

You realize Resurrection sold poorly right? Mainly because they oversaturated the market with fighting games that year so its kinda their own fault.

Companies absolutely use these to test the market for future games.

Maximillion Dood comes to mind with this. When the last season pass for SFV came out, he bought everyone but only used Akira a fuck-ton on online matches (and then Luke when he came out). One would think he would have went with Oro since he's one of those Third Strike fanatics, but nope... just legacy videos of other games ORO was in and one online video and that was it. Only other time he touches the DLC character he doesn't use is when he's doing a "Rate The Super/Costume" video.
He doesnt have a lot of time and hes not just a fighting game streamer.

How anyone can say this with a straight face is beyond me.

SFV was so undercooked when it was first released, even people who participated in the live beta told Capcom to stick this shit back in the oven and don't come back until it was COMPLETELY cooked, and they STILL didn't listen to their fans.
  • Piss poor "story mode" for each character that boils down to 3 matches (if that) with some poorly drawn cutscenes.
  • The cinematic story "A Shadow falls" completely ruins what could have been a perfect re-union between Guile and Charlie (excuse me, NASH), among other things
  • Models look fucking attrocious. Banana hair aside, the models are just unappealing.
  • DLC... DLC fucking EVERYWHERE. SFV being treated like a typical current year AAA title
  • logos on fucking clothing
  • eSports reetardation, censoring asses and clothing because we can't have women be sexy and shit.
  • Character's iconic moves being changed for no fucking reason (Claw loosing his charge motions unless it's on his specific stage that's also DLC)
  • You can just mash like a rabid monkey on the controller and you'll get whatever move you wanted out of it (see Akuma's Shun Goku Satsu)
And that's just off the top of my head. SFV was a big I.O.U. that was poorly handled, executed worse, and is considered a fucking joke, only beloved by tourneyfags. Calling a shit game "better as it aged" is the same excuse people fucking give to Third Strike all because a bunch of nips did some "cool shit" in tourneys even though thats all they ever fucking do in any tourney. It's not deep, it's not misunderstood, it's fucking garbage, period!
I think you can blame Ono for that. Once he was gone the game vastly improved.

Thing is. Do you REALLY want a new Darkstalkers with current Capcom practices and development?
Yes. Ono is gone. The last season of SFV has me cautiously optimistic that the people in charge know what they are doing.

That was my point. Resurrection was the "Capcom Test" that because it didn't do well, we never got a brand new Darkstalker series that everyone actually wanted instead of a re-release of the old games.

I wouldn't put it past Capcom that they would consider this collection another "Capcom Test". "Oh hey, rather than release a thing seperately, we're going to stick it in a collection with other more popular fighters. Oh, what's that? Hyper SF2 is doing better and is more popular online than Red Earth or Darkstalkers? BACK INTO THE VAULT YOU GO!!!"
I think you can blame Ono for that
Ono was just ONE problem with Capcom and it's fucking stupid that everyone shifts the blame solely on him when Capcom was always fucking retarded to begin with. Did Ono decide to make a Mortal Kombat rip of as a tie-in video game release for a movie?

Also SFV is still shit, even after you take out Ono. A game should ALWAYS be it's absolute best at launch, not after 5 bajillion patches and DLCs. SFV is a fundamentally flawed game right from the word go. People should be asking Capcom to do better, not the fucking status quo like every other AAA garbage.

It did well in the competitive scene during the first year/first season because everyone was like "Okay, there's problems but they'll fix it. Right? They got to!? Just look at Super SF4, Ultimate MVC3, the patch for Cross Tekken. They have to improve on the things we hate. They simply have to." And then nothing was changed and in fact the gameplay was made even worse. Everyone dropped it shortly after Akuma came out and it never really recovered. Even tourney fags at Evo said publicly, at the event when being interviewed, that they hate the game.

I would be very surprised if 6 is a step in the right direction and stops giving assholes get in for free 50/50 setup come back mechanic and Crush Counter bullshit.

Maybe to fgc spregs 3s is the best game ever. But I think to this day, normies don't care about third strike (mostly due to how bogus the game can be).
If 3s ever gets a re-release they should definitely balance a few things, I love the game but goddamn some characters are a joke.

I remember that some even referred to the game as Duty Fighter V because you don't play it for fun you play it because you must as a pro.

Remember when video game balance expert David Sirlin was tasked with rebalancing Super Turbo with incredibly minor tweaks suggested by top-level players and everybody hated it and wanted to kill him

I got the impression that the entire FGC and Smash community hated every single game they play

For the record, this is in reference to HD Remix. From what I remember, Sirlin made some "questionable" decisions like giving Dictator an invincible Devil's Reverse and a fake slide.

But since we're talking about Super Turbo "rebalances", New Legacy is fucking fantastic and I highly recommend people play this instead of OG Super Turbo. Hell, its even on Fightcade 2 WITH Ranking

I'm surprised they didn't think to make "Street Fighter III Turbo" this year. It is the 25th anniversary of New Generation and SF3: 3rd Strike is probably one of Capcom's most beloved fighting games of all time (in addition to the nest fighting game of all time). Would've been an easy win-win scenario.
It is the greatest fighting game of all time, which is ironic because it's kind of weak in the main thing that I like about the genre, the sexy girls, but even I can admit it's the best fighting game of all time.

Man Japan is absolutely retarded in the vidya industry. Outside of a few like From and the Yakuza series, very few are worth noting.

Then people say Eastern games are good compared to Western games. Nigga both are shit. One is woke and the other is coombait.

Capcom is just retarded, and has been getting worse over the years.

Two years ago there was a ransomware leak of the company that showed a bunch of slideshows that they were going for the woke crowd. Eastern game companies are drinking the Koolaid just as much as western game companies.

Can't say I agree with you there. But then again, it all really depends on the kind of games you like.

Wishlist videos made by fans want to see what characters will be in the game to what kind of fighting mechanics they want to see implemented in the game

SF3 was a failure, but it did not put the entire series on ice. Street Fighter EX3 came out in 2000 (which is probably one of the worst SF games I've ever played barring 5) and Marvel vs Capcom, CvS1 and CvS2 came out pretty much right after SF3 and they were more warmly received by the public because they weren't just straight up Street Fighter games, which Capcom had been releasing yearly for 7 years (not even taking to account the multiple iterations of each title). People just didn't want another straight up Street Fighter title at the time. They either wanted a crossover game that remixed the mechanics to play completely differently or 3D games like Tekken or Soul Calibur.

The entertainment industry doesn't give a shit about your appreciation. They just want your fucking money.

If Capcom cared, they would have come up with new franchises that could live up to people's expectations or at least fighting games that would advance the status of the genre.

Unfortunately you need normies to consume and buy your stuff in order to pay your programmers. artists and marketeers to make a new game possible. You don't always have to cater to them, but look at the money they bring in. It's stupid not to.

Capcom already burned me bad with SFV and I have no expectations for the $treet Fighter franchise. They couldn't even resist putting another sf2 in that collection.

How did you put a rival school characters in the tailend of a game and not add it to the collection?

Whatever hope the new gen likes semi real Luke.
Well, the other SF2s have issues. USF2 has divisive changes, and the other collection has either bad online or bad emulation or something. This one is expected to be better.

USF2 has divisive changes
Never played it, but looked it up and yea, there's a fuck-ton

Nintendo Switch (Ultra Street Fighter 2)
  • Basically a slightly adjusted version of ST, speculated to be based on HSF2 due to some similarities in the characters, and objects on Ryu stage etc.
  • Game speed is slower, speculated to be 1.35x faster than turbo 1 on Japanese ST.
  • Throws can now be fully teched, works similar to 3s throw techs, done with the same input as throw softening, window now seems tighter.
  • Slight reduction in throw damage.
  • No "old" versions of characters.
  • Stage speed variation is gone, all stages are the same speed.
  • Breakable stage objects are purely visual, no longer have an effect on falling characters after holds and throw softens in the corner.
  • Damage and dizzy variation on attacks are now gone, a move will always do the same damage/stun value.
  • Evil Ryu and Violent Ken added as playable characters.
  • Gouki has a super like in HDR, though he's based on the ST version of Gouki.
  • All characters except Gouki, Evil Ryu, and Violent Ken, all have the same dizzy rate (30, 34 after one dizzy).
  • Special moves and supers seem to be slightly easier to get to work.
  • Ken, Sagat, and Dhalsim can now properly reversal super.
  • Oicho, Honda and Chun's supers, and Claw's flip kicks can no longer be stored.
  • Claw will climb the wall on Spain stage if he does a walldive.
  • Claw cannot juggle after hk flip kick anymore.
  • Claw loses his claw for the whole round if it comes off (like old Claw).
  • Ryu's red fireball is now half circle back+punch.
  • Cammy's hooligan throw is now half circle forward+punch.
  • Cammy's backfist/back knuckle is now half circle back+punch.
  • Fei's chicken wing is now half circle forward+kick.
  • Dhalsim's flame and up flame are now half circle back+punch/kick.
  • Sagat's tiger knee is srk motion+kick.
  • Zangief's green hand is now srk motion+punch.
  • Due to the changes with dizzy rates and set damage/stun, Zangief's neutral jump> up+fierce headbutt will always dizzy the first time it hits in a round.
  • Dictator's fierce psycho crusher seems to always hit twice, and he lands very close to them instead of passing through.
  • Guile has his CPS1 sonic boom voice clip.
  • Gouki's red fireball is now half circle back+punch.
