It gives airlines another tool to fire passengers, possibly deny them all air travel through a no fly list. At least some of them are salivating at the thought of having that enforcement mechanism forever. They also benefit from the reduced services they've been providing under the dubious rationale of reducing COVID.

OTOH, at lease one exec--it might've been Bastian or Southwest, I don't remember--went public and said plane cabins are inherently lower risk because of the rapid air exchange and HEPA filters. At least some of them want to return to a semblance of normality.
Ed Bastian is the CEO of Delta right? I found their level of service (at least for domestic) didn't change all that much between pre-pandemic and through the last two years. You had masking and keeping half the seats empty for distancing but even at the worst of it, they still had the usual in-flight service. Worst it got was them handing out the snacks/water/etc in a ziploc bag.

The cunts over at United are probably giddy about having that stick to beat people with.

Bit of a side topic, I have to wonder if there's an interest in the administration to push the gas prices as high as possible to force people to switch to electric cars (disregarding the price of energy in general, it provides population control mechanisms you can generally get around with a gas-powered car). One of the key reasons electric hasn't been feasible until now is because of the low gas prices but there's probably a threshold at which it becomes more economical for people to get an electric car than a gas car. We're already seeing $5 a gallon in some places, I'm fully expecting it we'll see $7 in places like California by the end of the year.

I have no doubt that's part of the plan. The greens want their perfect renewable utopia, and they want it now. Who cares about the economics, the reliability, or the environmental downsides of renewable energy? It makes them feel good, so it needs to be done, and they'll whip the proles back in line as much as they have to.

I see two big problems with this plan. The first is that we're really not in a position to make a massive shift to electric cars that they demand. Those batteries have to come from somewhere, and it's certainly not domestic. Setting aside the environmental issues with mining rare earths, you've also got to ship these massive batteries to factories for production, and aren't we in the middle of a supply chain crisis? Let's also not forget the semiconductor shortage that's probably going to take years to clear up, so the fancy electronics required for these cars are going to be expensive if you can even get them. Don't even get me started on our aging electric grid and how it's just not up to the task of handling a substantial electric car load.

The second is that increasing the price on necessary fuel is not going to affect driving habits that much. People who have long commutes aren't going to drive less just because gas is $5 a gallon, they're going to drive the same amount but spend more to do it, which means less money to spend on other things, dampening the economy. And while some can afford to make the switch to electric, many can't, especially those in lower income brackets driving beaters around because they have no other option.

This is why you never put greens in charge of anything. They're either absolutely fucking retarded about how the world works, or they're blatantly malicious and want to force us all back into the trees (or extinct).

I said in the other thread, but by shitting his pants and doing nothing, Brandon was the only one Putin’s managed to humiliate on the international stage during this whole ordeal.
Yep. Relations between the USSR and the USA were arguably more open and normal than they are now.
Yeah when Kiwis (and others at large) were freaking out because Biden was shitting his pants and going to Camp David or some shit during this crisis, it wasn't because we wanted American boots on the ground.

I don't have any strong convictions other than "this sucks" and "it should not have happened," but I also don't understand all the Russia simping and "normies supporting Ukraine bad" in the happenings thread. Yeah no shit most "normies" are gonna be rooting for Ukrainian civilians throwing Molotov's - even if "muh Russia" wasn't a Democrat talking point, they are still the obvious aggressor.
I don't know about anyone else, but I rest easier knowing that whoever the globalists install will make everything right with the world.
Yeah Putin is a globohomo tool just like everyone else, just perhaps to a lesser degree. If he weren't he wouldn't be having slumber parties with Xi.

The Russian government wants war to take Ukraine. A significant chunk of Russia's people? They don't. But now we all have to deal with the ruble bottoming out and incoming $10 a gallon gas.

What's with the "normies supporting Ukraine is bad" narrative on the happenings thread? I hate democrats with their "Russia collision" bullshit as anyone else on here. But that doesn't mean I want Ukraine to be taken over. Russia is still a corrupt country.

Putin got kicked out of the club.

And /pol/ celebrates and raises a glass for their boy.

The thing about it is very simple: NATO represents multinational alliances that seem to only benefit the higher ups, and whatever plans they have for the world, and Putin has gone from just trying to take some regions that WANT to be part of Mother Russia, to full on poking the woke establishment in the eye. That and Reddit and Twitter, the eternal mortal enemies of The Farms, are pro-Ukraine, so there’s a new source of Putin supporters out of some sort of principle.

I’ll just copy/paste what I wrote about sanctions Russia was getting hit with:

At this point, Russia can do the whole “Cold War revival” thing again and just make their position where “The West is trying to destroy Russia through their aggression and their sanctions is making it where Russia and Russians have to be ashamed of their heritage and their home.”

And then you’ll have /pol/ and maybe some Farmers making it where Putin is based for taking on the globalist forces looking to create The Great Reset and replace us all with stupid wage slaves” and the Russians are like Trump voters/supporters and the unvaccinated where they can’t express their views in any accepted public forum lest they be be banned and canceled so Putin’s fight against Ukraine is for every exiled alpha Chad who refuses to bend the knee to woke beta cucks.

Over in the Ukraine megathread, the consensus is Putin is panicking and escalating the conflict. Since Russia doesn't have the resources to sustain a long campaign or even have the logistics to function right, maintaining arms will actually cost them more in the long run, which results in a use it or lose it attitude. It's hard to tell if that reasoning also applies to nukes, but IMO, mounting more pressure on Putin is going to make him more erratic, not less. Are the oligarchs considering assassination? That depends on whether they'll be able to lift sanctions off their bank accounts if they do so. I've heard no guarantees of that, so they have to weigh whether supporting Putin is what will keep the country from turning into Slav Iraq or Libya or bring Putin's head for the West's grace. I'm leaning toward collapse of the Russian government and destabilizing the region based on how the US has run its foreign policy for the last 20 years; virtue signal that we got rid of some dictator, occupy or let allies occupy the area, and then it falls into mismanagement until we impose a government in our favor (see Arab Spring).

Liberal Democracy for everyone, but only if you vote correctly!
Which Megathread, there are two.

Isn't A&N still hidden from the public? Unless glowniggers and journos are members of KF, one would have to actually login to see anything on A&N, Deep Thots, and Habbenings.

If i recall the reason that it went private was because the links posted on A&N were drawing too much attention from outside or something
The glow nigger posted it about 5 times in the happenings thread about Uncle Vladdy having a chimp out in Ukraine.

I am seeing the reverse, not supporting intervention in Ukraine means you love Putin raping some retarded Uki whore.

Plus almost the entire mainstream media and reddit and Twitter is sucking Zelensky's cock and virtue signaling for Ukrainians as if they are lolocaust survivors being clubbed like baby seals to death by Uncle Vladdy.

Of course they would. I don't want any American intervention that doesn't mean I'm all for Russia taking over Ukraine.

Also yes it sucks what's going on in Zelensky's County but I'm not going to act like the guy is some St. Since he has indulge in covering up Biden and his families crimes.

By 2035, California is supposed to have nothing but electric vehicles. Which, as @King Dead pointed out is unfeasible given the overall strategy involved to get there. I'd also add that areas with massive wealth inequality will just split like LA where a nice business district will be three blocks away from Skid Row. Which itself is an exception when driving IS the only way to get around a town. Overall, the poor regions will turn into Mexico or worse, Baltimore.

Considering a Tesla is a $100,000 car (and hybrids are $50K) and your working class schlub is willing to spend $20K-30K, well, leases are going to have to be significantly lower than what it is now for them to "buy in." Rideshare might have been a viable replacement, but California is the state that fucked with independent contractors to the point Uber and Lyft had to pay $200 million to support a proposition to get them exemptions. That turned out to be a pyrrhic victory given the rising price of gas and other costs that hamper the rideshare driver, which has led their scarcity. This also affects the wagies trying to get into their cagies at reasonable times and prices.

Invasion thread. Speaking of, this Left-wing jingoism reeks of Hillary vendetta regime change. She was one of the leaders that bungled the Russian Reset. I primarily blame the establishment at large, but she was the one holding the overlord button. I don't get the feeling that the goal is just to stop Russia's advance, but to cause the fall of the Russian Federation itself, which leaves me very worried about the political--and potentially literal--fallout.

I'm seeing both, honestly.

This is true, but rational people don't define their worldview by taking what "normies" think and inverting it. I just think Ukraine is the less shittier of the two, money laundering aside.

If Russia has shown anything in the last 3 centuries, anyone who thinks they about to end Russia, always gets fucked in the ass by Russia one way or the other.

Well Tucker name dropped Sam Hyde, who guess Fox News be showing 4chan memes.

What is it with Fox and Sam Hyde memes? I remember years ago Fox Phoenix doing the same shit reading Sam Hyde shitpostings in chat (Metokur mentioned it once in the San Bernadino stream). They legit though Sam Hyde was the one reeking havock in whatever bad shit was going on at the time.

Second, and this is more important than the first point: what they did to Trump was much, much worse than what they did to Bush. They called Bush stupid, ignorant, etc. but never really attacked his character further than that or his family. With Trump, they ratfucked his entire family name and equated him to Hitler outright on MSM. For fuck's sake these retards accused him of incest because he gave his daughter a fucking compliment! That's not exactly the kind of shit you can forgive and forget should they come crawling to him the way they did Bush.
Should note that the left DID have an incest attack card planned for blood libeling the Bushes. Trey Parker and Matt Stone had an entire storyline conceived for That's My Bush that would have W's daughters portrayed as vacuous sluts engaged in an incestuous lesbian relationship with each other that was going to be front and center of a spin-off movie they were working on at the time after That's My Bush got canceled. The entire project was spiked when 9-11 happened but they were going going to tie it into a plot where China finds out about the incest and use it as leverage against Bush and basically have Bush II come out in favor of his daughters being both gay and fucking each other.

The editors are boomers who don't understand internet culture, and any young conservative with half a brain knows they'll be a lot more successful talking shit on youtube than trying to grind their way to the top in legacy media.
