Putin understands something our idiot western leaders don't. People thrive in conflict. They are at their best when they suffer for a higher purpose. The sanctions will only make his internal position stronger.

The irony of this however is he has inflicted on Ukraine a similar mentality. They too have decided they are willing to suffer if it serves a higher purpose.
Go Bankrupt to Own the West. It's a bold strategy lets see if it works out for them Cotton.

And let's be real here, being poor broke drunks that can whether economic austerity and chaos is apart of the Russian identity at this point.

Reasonable.I still think NATO expansion is the single most important factor.
Russia may have been privy to information, or misinformation, that Ukraine was certainly heading towards NATO membership, given another decade or two.

If that's something the Kremlin decided to be a definitive red line, it would make sense to deal with the issue now, rather than give it another 5 years of weapons being funneled into Ukraine.
Putin's age may be a factor too. The cliche of the "old man in a hurry". He is approaching an age where succession will become an issue and that would be expected
to be violent and self-destructive as it usually is in Russia.

Interview I found of a US Colonel and former advisor to the Secretary Of Defence, Doug MacGregor on the Ukraine vs. Russia dynamic.

Even FoxNews guests cant believe how retarded cable news people are.
iirc from my cable news watching days, this guy was the most sensible of all the old military brass that appeared on Fox, at least from my (literal) armchair perspective. And unfortunately the guy on the left isn't just an anchor, he was a pretty notable house rep at one point.

I don't think US invasions in Middle East can be compared to the Russo-Ukrainian war. In this case, it's developed nation vs developed nation, not super-developed nation vs semi-developed shithole. US could blitz in with elites against Iraqis because they knew that their military is bad; I mean, just look at the casualties on both sides.
Is that the line now? They knew in 1991 that the Iraqi Army was bad and that's why they led with the units they did why holding units like 1st Cav back in case the first wave was wiped out like according to projections?

Just making sure what the narrative is nowadays since everyone looks at it with 20/20 hindsight rather than what people knew at the time and the doctrine and training of the time.
In this case, Russia has to be careful. They know that Ukrainian society is as developed as their own, and it doesn't take some tactical genius to know that their military is probably like that too. That's why Russia is sending in weak units first; if they can figure out the max strength of the enemy using what is essentially cannon fodder, they can then figure out what the composition of their main invading force should be. That's assuming Ukrainians take the bait, and from the footage that has been gathered of Russian convoys being burnt and troops being killed (and photographs for those things), it seems like they're doing that.
Russia has always done the human wave meatgrinder. Drain off the supplies of the enemy and put stress on their logistics while holding back an even heavier punch in case the enemy has something the Russians didn't know about.

There is a huge difference. ANG hates to hear it but it's true.
Having trained ANG as AD, there is a MASSIVE difference between the two that starts and ends with AD is a lifestyle, ANG is a hobby.

You're missing the fact that the US has only displayed weakness both internationally and internally. Putin and his boys probably ruled its now or never. After the Euro-Maiden, it would be only a matter of time before Ukraine would join the EU and NATO. So may as well strike while the eagle is being guided by a dementia patient and woke retarded underlins.

If I had to guess, their main miscalculation was the extent that Western countries would sanction them (even the neutral Swiss who bought/sold confiscated Jew gold from the Nazis during WWII is getting in on it), albeit they have not shutdown the gas and oil. Another thing that probably miscalculation was how fervent the anti-Russian sentiment would ramp up in Western countries, to the point where there are hate crimes against Russians (or attempted since that restaurant in D.C. was owned by a Lithuanian) already beginning to set in. This fervor may just push the US and allies into a hot war against their will.
IDK about this being a hot war personally, we're talking about the universally brain damaged being that is the western social media user. Once the next narrative is fed through Twitter, Facebook, Insta, TikTok they'll forget about this even happened. Just ask anyone about the muslim terror attacks in germany, france, belgium or austria. The Bactrian Theatre shooting massacre that everyone changed their fucking profile pictures for?

dont kid yourself, the anti russian sentiment in the west is the media exerting it's control over their slaves which is 90% of the population in any western country. None of the fags on reddit or in real life would give a single shit if the media wasnt encouraging them to be outraged and as soon as the media outrage machine stops the slaves who have been programmed to snarl like dogs will turn their attention onto whatever is next on the kike agenda.

I believe NATO membership and EU integration (if not outright membership) is pretty much Zelenskyy's whole platform. If I was Putin, you're damn right I'd be nervous about that.

It's a white Z, which would fit with it being a Russian vehicle, but I've never seen it painted inside a red hexagon before. There's a black 2 painted over it as well, which I've also not seen before.
Could be Russian Separatist BTR since they would likely to be using older Russian vehicles.
I honestly have no idea, apparently from a Russian guy I know, Russians are using Newer equipment for this invasion.
