ngl this is some unprecedented military aid.
might as well join the war at this point.

I don't remember where I read it, but I remember that a one or two inch deep stab from a Roman gladius was often enough to inflict a fatal wound.
Well yes, that was why the Romans used it, they fought in thight formations so stabbing with a sword was the most effective way of killing the enemy.

Jesus isn’t allowed to show up until we’ve colonized Mars. Sorry, Salvation is nice and all, but I do think Human
Very strange story

What compels people to want to do this? These people don't even seem to have fucked up lives. I can understand some Walter White terminal cancer freedom fighter motivations but I don't understand wanting to die like this. Has life become so meaningless for people that they feel an urge to die in a war? It's a very interesting mindset.

I mean it's boredom let's be honest you've been stuck inside for 2+ years probably. So all the cool events require you to be double jabbed and chances are the cool places online (minus a few based places) have some troon Jannie running things. So you can't speak out, you can't go out with your m8s assuming your friend groups haven't been decimated by COVID. I mean people want to join because war is exciting anyone who says otherwise is lying to themselves. For young men especially those that live in a society that has been thourghly emasculated war is a the natural human outlet. In fact it's rather simple we thrive as humans in conflict when wars occur humans tend to fuck more especially if they realize they're not going to live forever and might die tomorrow.

You just described both of my paternal grandparents to a tee. They watch MSNBC all day and parrot whatever it tells them, which is far left talking points.
When I tell boomers I don't have cable they just look at me like I'm insane.
"But you have two TVs!"
"Yeah I use those as monitors. For my PCs".
A look of horror crosses their faces.
"But everyone has cable!"
"Nope"
"HOW DO YOU WATCH THE NEWS?!"
"I don't"
They just shake their heads. It's hilarious.
Boomers were all raised with the mindset that

1) journalists are all trustworthy, selfless and borderline superhumans (an impression that is reinforced in FAR too many works of fiction)

2) that everyone had a "duty" to stay informed and up to date (an impression reinforced by TV networks themselves, i.e. "this is what you need to know about x")

So they watch TV all day without question, and basically brainwash themselves.

I don't mean to dunk on an entire generation like this but its actually fucking sad. They're human beings who have been manipulated for so long they are blind to it. I talk to my grandparents and other older relatives and no matter whether they are left or right, as soon as anything related to current events comes up in conversation, they turn into zombies mindlessly regurgitating what they watched.

It kills me inside because they let that define them, and they're so set in their ways that nothing I can say or do will change them.

I love all these fucking leftists saying they'll volunteer to fight in Ukraine.

They would faint at the sight of a recruiting ad on TV.

The mask not only slipped off, but it landed on the floor and created another NPC.
People should show them the war footage from this thread and tell them that’s what they have to look forward to if the US intervenes

I've found the weird thing is that, if you query people on their occupation or expertise, they can tell you everything, including the corruption in their own industry. But when you switch over to news events, it's like a switch goes off in their head. The critical thinking skills just go poof.
The difference is in lived experience. Ask someone about the job they have to go every day and they’ll tell you what they go through every day. When it comes to TV news it’s a whole different story since 95% of what they hear on the news has no direct effect on them (and oftentimes little indirect effect).
