Does Adam actually enjoy spedrunning? He doesn't seem to talk about it much and when he does it's complaining and whining. I can't think of a single time he was ever positive about spedrunning, seems like it just constantly makes him miserable. He's not even making money or getting attention for it, I don't know why he is still latched onto it.

My personal theory other than autism, of course is that Chibi just believes speedrunning is part of his identity, and one of those parts he can't possibly change. Even though he was never even good or famous as a runner (if anything, his cheating with Paper Mario made him infamous), and despite the fact even the deranged trannies of the speedrunning community have made it very clear they don't want anything to do with him, he has to keep acting like he's part of that group.

Plus, who knows, maybe it helps him feel like he's actually doing something productive during his gaming binges. Maybe he feels slightly better about doing an eight hour session of a JRPG he no longer enjoys for the 500th time if he keeps repeating to himself that he's chasing after a world record.
