Yeah we'll see if it develops but there is a chance Europe got a little bit overemotional and will try to walk it back as it dawns on them that a) these sanctions will fuck up their own economies a fair bit b) They don't have anything else to escalate with other than military force if they want to influence Russian behaviour (and they really don't want to use military force). Then again they may think they can break Putin in which case we won't see much change.

EDIT: If Putin threatens to cut off the gas supply once they've calmed down you may see a shameful, craven betrayal of Ukraine in the best traditions of the EU
