Israel wanted to remain neutral but Europeans forced them into condemning russia at the UN just now.

Since tensions between Russia and Ukraine began escalating, Israel has sought to avoid aligning too closely with either side. It’s one of the few countries that maintains relatively warm relations with both Ukraine, a fellow Western democracy, as well as Russia, which controls the airspace over Syria in which Israel operates to target Iranian proxies.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has avoided condemning Russia or its President Vladimir Putin directly and has rejected Ukrainian requests for military aid. On the other hand, he has expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people and okayed multiple shipments of humanitarian aid.

Israel was not required to offer a statement during the emergency session that began on Monday and was slated to continue until Tuesday evening, with 110 of the General Assembly’s 193 members requesting to speak. But Jerusalem appears intent on clarifying that its hesitance in alienating Putin should not be interpreted as support for the invasion.

"He thought the west and NATO wouldn't respond"... and boy did he call our bluff on that one. Thoughts and prayers for Ukraine though.

Literally no one said that anything besides materiel support would be provided and in fact many said explicitly and repeatedly that direct assistance was not under consideration in the lead up to this, even the US and UK who were the only nations who's leaders were taking the threat of a full scale invasion seriously.

Exxon-Mobil just announced that they're pulling out of Russia. Which does make me wonder - how capable are the Russians of keeping their current oil and gas extraction industry going without western finance and expertise? I know that Russian wells have been increasingly difficult to run over the last two decades but I wonder to what degree western capital has been relied on to keep things going...

I legitimately don't have an answer to this question. Will be interesting to see.

You don't understand! These are just the monkey model soldiers they are sending in. The real, competent forces haven't been deployed yet. We needed to clear out inventory you see so we sent all the old stuff to get wrecked first!
Where are the hind gunships in all of this?

It's also predicated on the general notion that WMD=Nuclear weapons, fueled by claims that Iraq had attempted to obtain yellowcake uranium, when the primary WMD threat from Iraq had always been chemical weapons.

Doesn't make the war rational though. And the Bush administration did their outmost to fool people into thinking that Saddam had restarted his efforts to build nuclear weapons

This mainly comes down to packaging, easier to just use WMD and let people think nukklur instead of the real issues with it. Can't blame them for pushing nuclear instead of trying to explain to people who were having a hard enough time understanding war with gas countries means more gas price.

Ultimately Saddam had wmds and more importantly had the capability of deploying munitions and that shit was still laying around. Of course I know that the weapons and warheads they had didn't match up (but why would you keep that shit if you weren't thinking about using it), but part of the Gulf War cease fire was "destroy all your toys" to which Saddam did not and barred inspectors from investigating further. He also continued to blast the people who didn't go to his favored denomination church with chemical weapons and in general was an asshole , especially when he burned his son's car collection.

This was apprently 2ch copypasta.
It's kind of funny how condescending she was because you could easily explain it as "These niggas been beefing for decades, talkin' shit, taking pop shots at each other. And finally head nigga in charge, Putin said enough of this shit, and just went off." And that still wild not be as condescending as she described it.

Saudis are suppose to be at Russia big "Antifascist" meeting. I'm sure they have some engineers they can loan.

Never forget that Wolf Blitzer is literally an employee of the DNC. Of course he knows what Biden will incoherently read off a teleprompter.

If you ever wonder if the politicians aren't pre-chosen, just look at all the gaffs that Biden gets away with that would end another politician's career. He has something as bad as a Howard Dean "Yeaaaaaaaah!" moment or Mike Dukakis tank moment every two weeks.

India, China, and Iran would still be big partners, to name a few.
Weird considering the amount of reports claiming that Russia has air superiority, and the fact that they are moving massive convoys around.
You forgot that Ukraine's blowing up every one of those convoys every second with the president's magical Ghosts of Kiev brigade.
