The Official Futurama Griefing Thread - Revived for Hulu because Matt Groening needs to milk his cartoons to death

"The men are sentenced to death!...

By snu-snu."

I think I remember reading somewhere that Billy himself had an abusive childhood, so even if there is some truth to this it doesn't necessarily mean he's a terrible person like John K.
I was involved in being a handler for Billy West and I didn't get any pedo/nonpedo etc vibes, but he def has that Eeyore aura around him like you get from people who are SOBER (Son of a bitch everything's real)
also dude likes his red bulls

As much as people shit on the movies, at least one good thing came from them. Seymore actually got the better life he deserved.

I think Bender's Big Score was the only good Futurama movie out of the four. The other three films just felt like episodes stretched out over two hours and Bender's Game was largely a filler film. Only BBS actually felt like movie material.

Honestly, if they replaced the sky tear cliffhanger with Fry and Leela getting together, that would've been a better finale.

I liked Beast With a Billion Backs but otherwise I agree.

I haven’t watched them since they came out, but I feel that Bender’s Game was better than Bender’s Big Score.

Good lord was Bender's Game bad (it had some funny jokes TBF). More damning is that it was the predecessor for Disenchantment's badness and proof that Groening & Cohen can't handle fantasy. On the joke level, enough of them work like seeing the Killbots kill each other or Hermaphrodite, but as a story, it's complete junk. The result is that the movie itself is mediocre and meandering, much like the Harold & Kumar joke they refer to by going to White Castle.

A lot of it has to do with the fact they're ambivalent towards fantasy, so their takes are on the most surface level possible. Bender's Game had Fry turn into Gollum and the first three episodes of Disenchantment was about how the Game of Thrones Thrones is sharp. Compare to a random episode of Futurama and they have deep understanding of Sci-Fi and Star Trek: TOS in particular, starting from the atomic futuristic aesthetics of the ship to Zapp Brannigan as a character.

Which I can sympathize. I wouldn't know how to improve Disenchantment either. Far as I can tell, Fantasy novel stories are about power politics. I guess make every ruler some petty, selfish retard doing selfish and retarded things.

Bender's Game was the Dungeons & Dragons movie. Bender's Big Score was Bender traveling through time because he opened a phishing e-mail.

I get it, it was the trial run for a rubbish show, however I am able to separate my thoughts on Disenchantment from Futurama. I feel like in Bender’s Big Score there was so much they put in there because they could, that really weighed it down.
