Criminals may be less hesitant to take life than conscripts.As I said earlier in this thread, the Russians did poor soldier-for-soldier against a similar enemy when they attacked Georgia in 2008. The point is, fighting on the home ground and having a NATO-trained former Soviet army won't matter much when you are against an enemy that is better armed and bigger at the end of the day.
But check any news like CNN and they have nothing but "UKRAINIAN RESISTANCE FIGHTERS BEAT BACK 58 DIVISIONS SINGLE HANDEDLY!"
Then the next day we see the front line map move another 10 miles inward. And if you think Russian conscripts can't fight well, how is a literal jailbird handed a gun going to do against even a basic trained soldier?
Not saying that's definitely how it will go, just something to consider.
