There is a mad lad that (might) do it. If they're LARPing at least they're putting in the bare fucking minimum by taking a photo of their backpacking gear. Guess we'll check back on WithUkraine to see if he actually ends up in Warsaw tomorrow.

Going into a warzone with absolutely zero knowledge of the language, culture or geography is a great way to have a bad time.

I'm amused that ITAR stops the best-armed country in the world's citizens from taking any advantage of that when going abroad to be unpaid mercenaries. (Cuckcenaries? Mercucks?)

Personal rifle? Not full-auto, and even then months of paperwork.
Plates? Sorta.*
NVGs? Not a chance.

So you remove the gear advantage of Americans and what do you have left? Untrained fatasses? Real intimidating.

*edit: There are exemptions for personal armor, though to what specific extent that applies here I do not know. Armor doesn't make a soldier though.

Good luck to your team when your translator gets taken out.

I’ll believe it when he’s taking pictures of Warsaw. Assuming they’re not just green screens of google images.

I was in for a bit and you are 100% correct. When active the younger guys tend not to be married and are more than happy to go off to war (money is good and you spend all day training and are naively curious). Once I got out it’s tempting to go contractor route but that’s a fucking gamble. Don’t have assets and don’t know who working beside.

In the case of Ukraine, you have no fucking clue who you are working with. It’s why you are hearing of ex-special forces making their own teams or vets getting together. Nobody wants to fight beside an unknown, let alone someone who has no experience or possibly doesn’t speak same language. That is not even getting into fact fighting for foreign country that most people can’t find on a map.

These Reddit retards are in for a rude awakening if get balls enough to actually go
Both my parents are ex-military and my dad gave me some insight on the convoy strategy and I get sick of Reddit claiming that they are stalled out and out of gas. Do you have any idea how much maintenance a tank requires? That is why there is an entire CREW to maintain one. It can't go further than a couple of miles without needing an oil change, constant repairs and the speed at which so many are trudging along is a maneuver based off of NATO's response where they are paced by tanker trucks with fuel. It isn't as simple as "HURRR ROLL INTO UKRAINE, BOYS!" This is modern warfare and certain precautions and tactics are put in place for a reason. Yeah, Russia is fucking up and some of their top generals have been killed, but they have so many nasty tricks up their sleeve and Putin hasn't even shown his hand yet. For example, the newest development near Chernobyl at Enerhodar may shift the tide of the entire war if shit doesn't get under control soon.

That's the part you got stuck on? I'm shocked at "a knife for killing". I would pay a literal Bitcoin to see some fat reddit tranny win hand to hand combat with any Russian conscript

That was just a single moronic carrot in a big boiling pot of stupid stew. Literally everything about that list was wrong, with the exception of getting a used Alice pack.

They've had a few other posts saying "guys this reddit is for packing and gear tips, stop asking if you should go and offering non-combat help". Then the actual gear ideas they have are terrible. That guidance list in the OP was close to being reasonable, which reinforces my suspicion that this started out with a small group of useful people who got flooded with useless troons, i.e. redditors.

Sorry but tanks and vehicles don’t need that much maintenance…

If that convoy is stalled it’s because they don’t have orders (shit went sideways and brass isn’t moving fast enough), they ran outta fuel, or the they are refusing to move. They staged for months before, which means supplies were ready, and rumours are flying they only prepared for 15 day conflict.

Ignoring the bullshit and propaganda — the Russians proved they are a paper tiger. Ukraine, and their trannie volunteers, should just be planning on holding out as long as possible while outside pressure try to resolve this shit.

This is a very funny mental image, and we’ve all had laughs about the redditors getting themselves killed in retarded ways, but imagine if one has a shred of confidence and actually manages to hurt or kill some poor Russian conscript bastard. Would they be horrified by the reality that they just killed an actual human being, an 18 year old kid who probably didn’t want to be there? Or would they brush it off as killing hecking unwholesome stormtrooper thanos Nazis?

I keep seeing people saying this but have yet to see anyone explain how.

Mostly it seems to be variations of "haha they didn't take the Ukraine in a week" as if that was even possible.
It's because the assumption was that the Russian army was indeed overwhelmingly superior enough to take Ukraine in a week if they wanted to.

Evidently, that hasn't happened. But we can only speculate on the reasons. Sure, it's a possibility that they fucked up, but it could also be a deliberate strategy to advance slowly to avoid unnecessary collateral or something. Unless they're a Russian general, everyone else claiming to know the real reason is just talking out of their ass.

Sorry, Im having trouble. My imagination isn't strong enough to get past "redditor actually winning". But killing someone with a knife while they are fighting back would be brutal as fuck. I don't think a normal soldier would have an easy time shaking that off.

Holy shit my sides flew into orbit. I love the fact that these people just can not help themselves from bragging about going into a foreign land to fight in a war they know nothing about, in a country they know nothing about. HURR DURR 3 MAN TEAM NEEDS A TRANSLATOR AND SOMEONE WHO KNOWS THE LAND WELL. Do these retards ever consider they are just a liability to the Ukraine army? That their clueless, dumb asses are only getting in the way? I am dying to know what is in the back packs. A compass, water resistant matches, trail mix, bottles of water? How detached from reality are these people?

This is morbidly fascinating for me.

I have a serous lack of belief that all these people have the brains to take steps to make themselves lawful combatants. Imagine the utter shitshow in the media if the Russians shoot one of these guys for being an unlawful combatant when the country eventually falls.

I think the Finns used most of their foreign volunteers as support troops, logistics and such, during the Winter War. But the Ukrainians are in a worse spot I think and may use these guys as fodder for soaking up Russian MLRS.

Also the possibility of some redditors and some Chechens killing each other for social media points has got to some new level of peak internet. SMH

My imagination isn't strong enough to get past "redditor having enough upper body strength to wield a knife to begin with"

It's because the assumption was that the Russian army was indeed overwhelmingly superior enough to take Ukraine in a week if they wanted to.
But... it took America + Allies a month to take Iraq. A 3rd world country half the size (population wise at least) of the Ukraine with troops that ran away instead of staying to fight.

I dunno maybe I'm dumb but I don't get it.

I like Ukraine and I don't think that what Russia is doing over there is right. With that having been said, I can't help, but feel like a racist southerner in the 1870s whose just found out about the existence of Liberia.

Edit: Accidentally wrote wrong instead of right
