The only way this could be more "Bootleg Bart" is if Bart was also drawn as black while waving a Confederate Flag and promoting a local sports team with another copyrighted 90's pop culture icon standing next to him.

Damn, I miss 90's and early 2000's Simpsons.

In a weird way, I think The Simpsons: Hit & Run was sort of a true "last hurrah" for the franchise.

The game came out after the Golden Age and the Silver Age/Scully Era during those awkward middle years after the Golden and Silver Ages but before the movie and full-blown true and honest Zombie Simpsons.

The game feels like you took the best elements of both the 90's golden years and the turn of the millennium silver years and fused it all into one memorable game. IIRC, a lot of Golden Age writers still lingered around for things like Simpsons Hit & Run and a few select episodes of the middle years but nearly all of them retired by the time the movie came out.

Holy shit how does her voice keep getting worse.
I imagine it's similar to improper singing leading to vocal cord damage. The Marge voice is probably not very easy on the vocal cords, and doing it for so long might have affected her ability to speak. Furthermore, Julie Kavner's in her 70s now, and voices generally start to sound weaker as you reach old age (imagine stereotypical old man/woman voices).

Combine the two, and it's really not a surprise that Marge is sounding terrible these days. If the executives had anything approaching a heart, they'd either recast her or cancel the series outright, let her retire and stop straining her voice so much. One wonders why she keeps doing it if it's obviously hard for her to do the voice like she used to. (Yes, I know, money, but I doubt she's actually hurting for cash.)

Plus she's been chainsmoking for over 60 years.

Yeesh, it's a miracle she's still kicking after all that. For her sake, I hope she stops before her voice dies or she develops throat cancer.
I have a theory that she already has cancer and is undergone chemotherapy and other such treatments, and that has ruined her voice even further.

IIRC, last time Marcia Wallace voiced Krabappel, her voice was really goddamn awful. I presume the same could happen with Kavner and Marge.
