since they talk for months before debut in the discord
Is this confirmed true for Hololive? If it is then I find the collabs of both gens quite staggering.
I mean, believe it or not, I love Calli and Ina and still maintain a sub to them, but all of their group collabs were immensely disjointed and awkward. I watched the first ever Council collab as part of that relay and was bored to tears, and people in this thread that are very vocal fans of Hololive still call Council collabs boring and difficult to watch.
All in all, though, it doesn't really matter. I think people look at the segregation through tunnel vision. It's not that easy, and there's lots of indirect factors that compound the issue the more you think about it.
People are just angry at the fact that she seems to be wasting a golden oportunity. Same thing happened to Sana when she took a break a month into her career and number-wise it has crippled her channel.
Not quite tit for tat.
If you check SanaCam-001
here, you can see that, even in a branch who has almost unilaterally suffered their worst ever months in terms of growth, Sana is something else. She has gained only 9K subs in the last month.
Ayame is different because Gen 2 were not projected to be soaring the way they are now when they debuted. In fact, Ayame's last 5 months or so of doing basically fuck all has failed to fall below the ceiling of her growth during the first year or so of activity.
In other words, one has taken a spot in the hotly-anticipated EN2 and tanked her momentum, whilst the other is still to this day doing better doing nothing than she was when she started out — essentially riding the wave of her success.
It's not something Sana can't recover from, though. Here is Pomu's monthly sub growth, who took a month off until mid-August to recover from surgery, and struggled in the following months to regain momentum. Channels DO heal and recover with enough work ethic.
Penny for Kiara's thoughts, though, as a completely MIA Sana almost matched her sub growth last month (10K).
