He literally got double prize money.
thats because they literally are. they ever appear on tv, theyre split into episodes basically so you can easily run ads over themThe other three films just felt like episodes stretched out over two hours and Bender's Game was largely a filler film.
Honestly, I'm not surprised he's back, never was when they announced it either, since I knew that it was going to happen regardless. It just felt like a ploy to hype up the show more.Well, I'm happy that DiMaggo got his money.
Still think this show is going to explode on the launchpad, as it were.
"It's working while being lazy! Like a voice actor!"Respects to him. For getting more money out if them. If you going to be participating in a train wreck you might as well try to milk the hell out of it if you have the leverage.
Like a balloon and... something bad happens!I dont have much hope for this one
To me the Simpsons without Phil Hartman is like Futurama without John DiMaggio*.
*(the guy who voiced Bender)
The guy that voices Bender has extreme TDS. His Twitter has literally tens of thousands of anti Trump posts and rants. If they can go two episodes without an alien named Zornald Glump instigating a deadly space insurrection consisting of space plague deniers and space truckers from the planet Smussia I will be extremely impressed.
I wouldn’t say it was light even in the early years, Futurama derived most of its humour not just from the characters but hugely from its future setting, so many jokes were about the politics, economics, law, and social ecological climate of what the 31st century earth would be like. Futurama always had pretty heavy amounts of social commentary because it was so intervowen in the shows reality, when the settings scale was so vast, our characters can go to literally anywhere in the universe. One thing that worries me the most is gonna be the political commentary. The original show kept it fairly light with shit like nixon but the Comedy Central run started getting more heavy handed, for example, making an episode based on the 2012 election and Obama's birth certificate drama.
John DiMaggio is just about as NPC as it gets. He's as bad as the average Redditor, somehow. I assume he has brain damage or is being paid by a PAC to act this way.The guy that voices Bender has extreme TDS. His Twitter has literally tens of thousands of anti Trump posts and rants.
It helps that the Futurama writers are actually smart people unlike Modern Simpsons writers who still are obsessed with 90s hate mail.I wouldn’t say it was light even in the early years, Futurama derived most of its humour not just from the characters but hugely from its future setting, so many jokes were about the politics, economics, law, and social ecological climate of what the 31st century earth would be like. Futurama always had pretty heavy amounts of social commentary because it was so intervowen in the shows reality, when the settings scale was so vast, our characters can go to literally anywhere in the universe.
The big difference is that it was actually, well funny. Big focus on politics and satire isn’t necessarily a bad thing in itself when it’s actually fucking funny. The main problem now in cartoons is that it almost always is the most obvious and cringe shit imaginable. Flogging the same dead horses and making the same lame trump Jokes and conservative shit takes we’ve seen billions of times before. There is no room for subtlety in political cartoon satire anymore.
I mean just take this classic global warming clip from Futurama, how clever the concept is and compare it to modern day Simpsons shit, difference in writing Is night and day:
I could see the same thing with Harrison Ford and the modern Star War movies.Respects to him. For getting more money out if them. If you going to be participating in a train wreck you might as well try to milk the hell out of it if you have the leverage.
I heard that "I'm walking on sunshine" song at the grocery store today.
Oh yeah, baby!Good that Bender is back.
(if I understand right)
But what about your old pal Flexo?Oh yeah, baby!
