It's pretty simple: Ukraine is...What is different? For this war, I know us typical AnNers are neutral -- maybe SLIGHTLY Russia-leaning (mostly because we're extremely anti-clown world) but the general hate and other users coming in here baiting is intense.
Maybe this war is more "real" than the Afghanistan debacle and the Israeli flare ups in 2021?
1. close to Europe (both geographically and culturally - that last bit is important for the US)
2. filled with white Christian people
3. not as undeveloped
4. fighting against what was once the greatest boogeyman Western Europe and the US had known
while, on the other hand, Afghanistan is...
1. in Asia i.e. "chinks, poos and sandniggers" so far away both culturally and geographically
2. filled with brown Muslim people, see above
3. considered to be barbaric and undeveloped, both because it is and because of how people think of the above
4. fighting terrorists which have been on the news for the past 30 years so people probably got bored of it
In general, people think it's more *important* than Afghanistan, I feel.
