I feel like a dumbass for thinking it was all going to be a simulation like Desert Storm. It still is kind of a simulation. I firmly believe that the western media is inflating Ukrainian victories and Russian losses. The Ghost of Kyiv is not real. No Il-76s full of Russian paratroopers were shot down. Teenagers and 3rd worlders are watching War Thunder and DCS clips billed as war footage on TikTok.
But it's a real war now. Both sides are suffering casualties. It's unclear how much of a black eye the Ukrainians are going to give Putin before they're forced to capitulate. There's a non-zero chance that NATO gets dragged in and it goes nuclear. Gas could hit $5/gallon, and crude will push $200/barrel before US shale production can bring prices back down.

Shit is crazy and nobody is in control.

Fracking needs crude at $80/bbl to make a sure profit. Some fracking wells can eke out a profit when crude is as low as $60. Not many of them though.

Fracking and conventional production won't bring down prices any time soon despite the natural reaction to increase production when prices are high because of the dipshit in the Oval Office and the dipshits running the EPA and Interior. Any increases in domestic production will be scattered and not large enough.

If a certain bad man were still president, well, crude wouldn't be at $120, and if it did sharply rise like it has, barriers to production would be removed very quickly and very widely resulting in a drop in crude (and thus gasoline) prices within a short period of time. A couple months maybe. With the idiots in charge for the next 2 and 3/4 years, this shit is the new normal it's the way they want it to be. They view gasoline prices that crush the lower and middle class as an opportunity to push renewable unicorn rainbow farts even harder, not a reason to increase ebil fossil fuel production.

I'd wager it being more due to various sanctions. Between being legally required to stop giving some stuff, and people being unable to pay for what you are still allowed to offer because the money needs to go through a sanctioned bank, it's going to be cheaper and easier to cut them off entirely and wait for the dust to settle. Especially when you can make a PR virtue signaling move out of it. If it was just about keeping the comparable price the same, they'd simply jack up the price to match the exchange rate.

What I find strange: There is no sound, the color pattern of the heli does not seem to match with the helis they use and no aftermath pictures.
I guess we'll find out in a few days.

This is probably it, since the model of the helicopter matches up and the terrain matches, plus it came out shortly after the video was released.

Personally it has to be real and it definitely can't be ARMA 3 footage, like some tried to claim on other sites, ARMA wished it could have vehicles exploding look that good.

This isn't anything outrageous, it was standard civil defense stuff in Soviet Union. Every boomer/gen-x knows how to use an AK -47 in theory because it was mandatory in school.
I think Russia too has kept this in the curriculum to some degree it because there's plenty of videos of Russian schoolkids disasembling an AK, I'm sure the actual Russian kiwis know better though.
