I was curious so I Googled it, McDonald's corporate owns most of the Russian stores, and they're not franchises. No way they're throwing away that much to virtue signal.
Makes complete sense. I imagine that the stores in Russia generates millions of dollars. They may also see the sanctions as benficial for them. Assuming food prices increase in Russia due to the sanctions, a cheap fast food alternative could generate a lot of money.
Positive publicity and the dollar amount on sanctions. Companies aren't human (lol at American legal system giving a fucking corperation the rights as a person). If the transAtlantic slave trade came back and the popular opinion in America became black people weren't human again I guarantee there would be Nike sponsored slave catcher squads (how do you think this squad keeps up with runaways? Why the new Nike air max!)
TLDR company social justice is a meme and it's fun watching merican leftoids fall for it.
Well, they certain predicted the positive publicity correctly. It’s interesting to see these morally bankrupt companies that get called out annually for exploitation releasing statements about their “moral principles” and getting praise for it.

Meanwhile, IKEA has closed all 17 stores and cut their contracts with about 50 suppliers (factories) in Russia almost overnight. Russia was one of their biggest and fastest-growing markets and they decided to just throw that away for clout.

Russians queued just to get into the stores. Some people I know are kicking themselves for investing in foreign currency because investing in IKEA plushies would have instantly doubled their money.

Queuing up around the block for Western goods... It's like the good old Soviet times have come back overnight.
Seeing as the talk is companies rejecting Russia, how long before we hear of them getting wrecked and those that stayed doing gang busters .

There is a memorial to the Niños Héroes, military cadets that were killed during the Battle of Chapultepec, one of the last battles of the Mexican-American War, in the zocalo (town square) of Mexico City. Juan Escutia leapt from Chapultepec Castle wrapped in the Mexican flag to prevent it from being taken by the US Army; some of the dead cadets were as young as 10. I learned this while living in Mexico City. While there I had a friend from France who told me the French invasion of Mexico and the installation of a Hapsburg as monarch of the Second Mexican Empire by Napoleon III was news to her; she said France's shady past was downplayed in her school. Seems like countries don't like teaching the shameful parts of their history so I understand it. People shouldn't get butthurt about it, learning and education is a lifelong process.
Not many people in the states know including a shitload of retarded chicanos that Cinco De Mayo comes from that war as it was the day that the French stooge lost in the Mexican Revolution in some battle over there.

You now, it's kind of funny.

The uber-leftist bugman and wine aunt are direct repercussions of the Communist infiltration of academia by the USSR.

Now, those same bugmen and cat-ladies who were unironically advocating for communism and socialism and being whole-heartedly anti-American and anti-NATO and anti-European are the exact same ones screeching for Russia to be nuked and clapping like brain damaged seals at the photos of Geneva Convention violations.

It is to laugh. All of the world is a stage. Only it's a clown show.

Russia Annexed Crimea and its no different than moscow
lol no you dont get to just annex crimea and then pretend like you think them fucking with that is going to get parlayed into a blitzkrieg on moscow and the parts they didnt take from ukraine, you could say this about every inch a russian soldier crosses. "oops you were trying to retake this line i stepped over bet that means youre trying to nuke moscow now right? better just kill you dead here then"

and to add to that i dont even think russian leadership believes that

Can someone answer me simply: is Russia losing? All my leftist friends and every post on reddit and Twatter is nothing but posts about how well Ukraine is doing and how Russia is moments away from giving up.

Now, I haven't been paying much attention to this war for reasons, but I would assume based on what I know of Russia's military, there's no way Ukraine can beat them, right? Plus, I've learned over the years that whatever reddit and Twatter is pushing, assume the opposite is true.

Most likely even if he does win. Putin serves the Oligarchs so they will just install someone else who serves their interests.
That's an exaggeration. The oligarchs don't really seem to control Putin at all; in fact, Putin humiliated, jailed, then exiled Khodorkovsky, who was debatably the most powerful oligarch. If the oligarchs had their way, I'm sure Putin would have been executed after 2014 for severely damaging their interests. Putin is too highly regarded by the military and most of the common Russian people for the oligarchs to do much against him despite Putin effectively just being the worst and richest oligarch. It's simply the modern incarnation of Russia's "good Czar, bad boyars" phenomenon.

Leaked recording of EU representatives talking about the shooting of protesters. They weren't shot by then President Poreshenko they were shot by the people we then put in power.
Some EU folks were upset it wasn't investigated.

Link won't paste
If you are talking about the Euromaidan protests in 2014, yes, nothing new. The Ukrainian prosecutors under Poroshenko said, that the first victims during these protests have been killed using hunting rifles in a forest, and their bodies were brought back to Kiev as martyrs. (Source: can't find it right now, possibly memory holed, but read about it 5 years ago).

The oligarchs either suck putin's dick or they get the old communists back who kill them anyway.

There is no other party in Russia

I'm not the only one that finds this level of simpery really creepy, right?
Remember the Cuomo-sexuals during Covid in the USA? Everyone else forgot about it already but I remember. Maybe this will end the same way for Z-man as it did for the former Governor of New York State…

Just take everything—American, Russian, Ukrainian updates— with a grain of salt. I think it’s a bit too early to claim Ukraine is winning anything, but that’s just me. I don’t doubt they are inflicting a bit of damage, but it will be months before we see the final outcome of this.

OK who are the utter retards who pointed to locations in North America? Even in you have no idea where Ukraine is you can at least take a guess at somewhere near Russia for fuck sake.

They don't know where Russia is either.

These types of "select the location" surveys are done via smart phones and it's been found the overwhelming majority of the time people are just tapping to get through it.

Hence why this map and most others is just a concentration of dots on what would be the right side of a phone display in landscape plus a seemingly random scattering everywhere else.

In this particular case the people who took the few seconds to remember where Ukraine actually is are the types to think more critically about the question of intervention, so it's still correct.

Korea was honestly kind of funny.
>Launch really half-assed defense of South Korea
>Get butthole pushed in by sperging communists
>DADDY MACARTHUR PLEASE SAVE US!
>Macarthur starts to win war
>Keeps going like Paton wanted to do against the USSR
>NO NOT LIKE THAT!
>Fires Macarthur
>President Jewman declared hero
>US still stuck in Korea decades latter
To be fair, MacArthur was doing extremely poorly in Korea, once the chinese got involved.
And got so butthurt about it that he wanted to drop nukes.
Truman got it right:
I didn't fire him because he was a dumb son of a bitch, although he was, but that's not against the law for generals. If it was, half to three-quarters of them would be in jail.

So reddit just got a ton of soldiers/innocent people killed for the pursuit of upvotes:

You can follow the video link and find the photo, times add up and the video is CLEARLY this school. There's also videos emerging surrounding this of kids trapped in these schools during the shellings.
How is it CLEARLY this school, when the gym flooring was painted entirely in different colors (green and red)?
Ok, if they methodically started to move against the school buildings because of this, it would make sense, but it's not a proven link.

God even their memes are discount rate.
Russians live short, intense lives and just don't have time for memes

Not losing so much as not doing as well as everyone with a brain expected. I think Russia was pretty convinced they'd steamroll and didn't really take any contingency plans incase they didn't seriously. Don't get me wrong. Ukraine will lose. But instead of a two day minimal damage blitz it's dragging out into sieges of major cities which isn't exactly great for winning hearts and minds.
