Not if they're just picking the planes up, not flying combat missions. The Russians know NATO air and air defense is active, would be treated as an act of war.Doesn't this give the russians reason to bomb those airports?
Also, sending "Flying Tigers" not a good idea. The Ukes have the pilots, will have maintenance. "Flying Tigers" would likely be trained to fly US/Allied fighters, requiring special maintenance/logistics in support.
Would also suggest we/Allies are providing runway repair equipment/materials to the Ukes. Takes a LOT to wipe out an airfield for good. You patch holes in runways with dirt and pierced steel planking, bring in fuel tanks if needed, maintenance equipment, make quick fixes to buildings as needed. Tower out? Use a mobile unit.
Dunno, folks. For some reason I see a long, grinding war now. Long war doesn't favor a Russian victory. Lend-Lease supplies coming in, Ukrainians and volunteers coming in.
How this ends....no idea. Anything can happen, anywhere. Maybe we get lucky and Putin is removed from power. Then things could change.
