Just wait and see what this does to food prices. Its going to be ruff because everything in US food production depends on DIESEL. From the farming equipment to the trucks that bring it to your local supermarket. But at least the USA actually produces food. And the only roadblocks to producing all the oil we need are political.

Russia at least has a chance to not starve if they can figure out their banking system running internally to pay vendors and workers.

From what I've been hearing, Germany was already having problems with getting diesel in before all of this, and now it's getting worse. Also, Pakistan agreed to a wheat purchase from Russia. I feel like a wheat for mining rights deal with Afghanistan is coming

Not to mention most of this "cost" is coming out of military expenditure which is separate from other budgets. The west is taking a small hit collectively to scrap the Russian military, you can't get a better deal then that when you have hardened soldiers like the Ukraine (probably some snuck in NATO to boot) to just demo the Russians from fortified positions.

Fucked in what sense, though? They're definitely rich enough to pay for food, even if it'd substantially lower their standard of living. The real losers will be Africa and the poorer countries of Asia, who would see their import of food diverted to Yuropoors and Middle East instead.

Fucked in the sense that they will have to chose between starving (keep exports going) or going bankrupt(cut off exports).
And cutting off oil/Gas from Russia means they may not have enough energy at any price. I am unconvinced they can just fill a hole that big in their energy needs overnight.

Channel One, where the show airs, has neither confirmed nor denied its removal so far. From what I gather it's Russia's equivalent to Jimmy Kimmel's show.
