So, grocery prices for a lot of stuff is already up 10+ percent and its hard to find stuff and the utility bills are through the roof and the gas price doubled in 13 months. But hey, no mean tweets. I bet a lot of people would personally let Donald Trump roast them on Twitter for gas to be 2 dollars a gallon cheaper. This is what its like in March. I'm shitting bricks imagining what it will be in the summer during the customary "gasoline has to be expensive in the summer because people want to use it more so we make more money, I mean, uh, there was a tanker problem in Sri Lanka and uh you know, the Russia stuff" gouging. I can't wait for gasoline to go up another 50 percent in 6 months from a fucking doubling in two years to TOTALLY PWN PUTLER.

FML.

Edit: Do you think the Biden administration tries to set a price control?

It's a stupid enough idea. Now that you bring up summer, that is the time California experiences the most brownouts due to everyone turning on their air conditioning all day every day. At one point, the summer blend of gas ran out and Brown had to authorize the use of the winter blend. We're probably going to get more of that a few months from now.

I unironically expect this to be floated and focus tested in multiple op-eds and news articles before the end of the month. No amount of blaming Russia is going to take away the shock and frustration of increasing fuel costs, especially when paired with the inflation on everything else.

Like to also say Biden won't do it, but it's an election year and the Dems don't want to step on the eco-terrorist tail with new drilling and revisiting Keystone until after they've all dutifully voted blue. Anything is possible at this point.

As if Big Ag and Big Oil is going to allow the feds to fuck them over, lol.

Honestly, I'm just enjoying how the DNC is up shit creek with every way out seeming filled with bear traps.

This is what scares me about this President and leads me to believe that he doesn't know what's going on. I know Reagan was losing a step when he left office, (It was what... '92 when he owned up to having Alzheimer's if I remember correctly and bowed out from the public eye).

I was 8 years old when Reagan left office and I remember watching his press conferences with my Grandfather.... he was pretty on point even at the end of his presidency. He gave as good as he got.

I've never seen anything like this. If this was 1985 (a year into Reagan's second term... not his first like Biden) and his staffers were acting like this, my Grandfather (who thought Reagan walked on water) would be calling for blood.... and an impeachment.

The fact that they're actively shutting down the press means that there is a problem in the Executive branch (and the fact that the press isn't crucifying him for it, means that there is a problem in the media).

At heart, I'm a 90's Democrat who's a little more fiscally conservative... which in the modern lexicon means that I'm an Alt Right White Supremacist (and if you look at my wife and kids, I'm really bad at being a white supremacist).

We do not have competent governance under Joe Biden and we are sitting on a knife's edge that could land us into WWIII.
another thing people forget is that HW Bush was his VP. He might be the sidekick but he could have handled everything during his entire term. HW Bush was everything Hilary Clinton claimed to be in 2016. By approval rating he had the best first 3 years of any president ever in terms of approval rating. so even if Ron needed some help, HW was there and could actually do what needed to be done.

Kamala doesn't know anything besides sucking cock. she couldn't even run a presidential campaign, didn't she drop before the iowa caucus? Her entire life is basically her getting ahead by being the token minority in the popular slut club.
So you're saying James Buchanan is the next speedrun after Carter?
Bucaanan never touched a little girl nor ever was accused of it. he treated women better than any jewish man in the history of civilization. he was like the pope in terms of how non-sexual he was towards women. Beyond that he understood how bad niggers and immigrants would be for this country. He was Trump before trump in terms of media manipulation aganist him. Another Trump-esque thing about him was his love of the theater and Russia.

Was gonna say if it’s $6 in the south then California is going to get felted.
Thats what i think we need to start examining, at what point does the cost of gas completely fuck people. i'm sure rideshare and food delivery is completely off the table now.
With the rapid, nationwide trend of increasing gas prices showing no sign of stopping in the near future, I'm now wondering how high gas will have to be before normies (bugmen types) start throwing up their arms and pointing fingers. Maybe $15-20/gal for 87 will be the turning point? Interesting times.
have you been in a coma the last 3 years? we all know the media basically has most of the american population on a leesh. they'll tell people its trump voters then kill off the GOP in mayan-esque rituals to the oil gods.

At this point, I expect gas to hit over $5/gallon by the end of the month for those states lucky enough to have their own (or exist close to) refineries.

I think Biden will have to make a few concessions to prevent the gas prices for skyrocketing to $7/gallon. To him, it's going to be a delicate balancing act between ecology and the economy. Concessions for more drilling/pipelines won't do anything major in the short term, however.

Even for the 10% ethanol blend or whatever they push there that’s just below E-85 and makes my car have worse gas mileage?

I paid $3.94 earlier this week for no ethanol added regular in the prairieland. It has stabilized for a few days here at least. I was expecting to see another jump when I ran errands today.

Edit: Found a photo from the heart of the coof when gas was $1.19.

Take us all out of our misery already. *sigh*
Interesting picture. I wonder if that decimal DOT segment exists in all positions between the digits or only between the first and the second digit in the 4 digit display (save costs?).
If it doesn't it will be funny once gas hits 10$

Edit: Do you think the Biden administration tries to set a price control?
Price controls? Dear God, no. That is how you get shortages and rationing.

When the price of flower that goes into a loaf is higher than what the baker gets for selling the price controlled loaf of bread, then the baker will not eat the loss. Instead he just closes the bakery and tell all the customers "I dunno, I don't sell bread anymore, try somewhere else".

Do this to gas prices and the stations with their paper-thin margins will just close.

The reason prices go up is because of a supply and demand issue. There is fear that there is just not enough oil/gasoline for everyone to get product.
Thus prices go up, and prices people out of buying gas, or buying less than they should normally be, which is demand destruction and is necessary in order to reduce demand to get demand and supply into equivilibrium.

Ban russian oil sales world-wide and you will absolutely see 10$ gas at the pump. At that point there will be people that will quit their jobs because they simply can not afford the gas for commuting any more. So job destruction as well.
What happens in corrupt shithole Ukraine is terrible for sure, every one agrees about that, but is it so terrible that you want to destroy your own economy, make your own people unemployed, and cause a depression?

I can't wait for gas prices to get so high that Amazon has to stop free shipping because they're eating too much loss on transport.
Damn! Now that you mention it, I haven't seen that many Amazon delivery trucks lately either. They were everywhere during the Pandemic filling in the hole rideshare drivers created from high gas prices.

This is a sacrifice we make in defense of Our Democracy™️, our multicultural, pluralistic society, and freedom (to do as you're told)!

I find it interesting (in a disturbing way) that my company and I'm sure many others have their Return to Office plans taking place this month. I don't think anyone has considered or actually cares about the extra demand this going to put on gas supplies, let alone how much more employees that have been working at home the past two years are suddenly going to have to pony up out of their paychecks just to the get to the office and back home on a daily basis.

Best thing they could do is leave work from home in place right now. Not due to the Coof, but due to national interest.

This nigger Kiwi right here ain't looking forward to getting ass-fucked at the gas pump on a weeky basis now, instead of topping of on a monthly basis while working at home.

Mr. Shekelstein doesn't care that his wagies have to pay $7 a gallon in gas to get to the office, he's been missing and craving the power he had over his wagecucks by forcing them to come into the cube every day.
