Majority of this thread didn't buy into Putin's stated reason since we are mostly looking at it from an American focused view where some of us believe that it was fuckups by Biden, Obama, that coup and trying to get Ukraine into NATO that triggered him. Add in that some also believe its because of Russian Imperialism or something of that variant since Russia is automatically bad for a lot of folks by default.
Most of the American news media here isn't covering all of that in depth as far as how fucked up Ukraine is since question Ukraine and you get called a traitor like Tucker has been for the past two weeks.
And most of this nation has been indoctrinated hard into "good guys vs baddies" that they don't have the level of mental strength to handle that nuance lol.
I am aware that there has been some sketchy shit going on in the Donbass for the past few years but you have seen the reactions here, most don't care and just see it as Putin being an opportunist, which he is no doubt, but if true that Putin is doing out of the goodness of his heart, most don't care.
That is why I stated in my earlier post, Its up to Putin and his lot to decide the fate of Mother Russia.
