It's actually pretty funny how the people who were terrified of Trump having to deal with a serious war despite being a media figure out of his depth are defending an equally out of his depth Zelensky. Let's be perfectly honest here, most of us didn't actually think it'd come to boots on the ground but once it happened there was NO way of Zelensky being smart enough to negotiate his way out of this.

Personally I think when push comes to shove he's gonna get assassinated by his own generals after calling for a suicide push against Russian forces. With air superiority and Kiev all but blocked off, supplies are going to start dwindling fast and I don't see hungry citizens accustomed to the 21st century standard of living picking up weapons to fight to the death.

I was watching the video of Tucker that was shared early and he showed a clip from a UFC fighter from Kentucky sharing his opinion on the current situation and i think most people (and i don't consider people who use twitter people) would agree with what he said

Even if he himself admits he doesn't have a full picture of what the fuck is going on he is still very well aware of the fact that his government is not caring to explain anything about the situation yet wants him to care about and even go fight a war on the other side of the world for a country that's not even considered part of the EU.

Because all they know of Zelensky comes from the media in the last few weeks. They think he is an upstanding, Obama 2.0 guy being bullied by literally Hitler and has no faults.

What really ignited this to happen was russia's fear of Z and NATO flirting and pulling a reverse cuban missile crisis right at their doorstep, with nukes aiming directly at moscow. We all know how burgers reacted back when this happened to them so no surprise russia decided to jump in before it could actually become reality, it may be a shitty justification, but it's one of their justifications nontheless.

Something that's very clear is that russia won't leave empty handed, they will take some regions with them, probably the ones near their borders, who knows for how long this will drag out, but the longer it drags out the worse the life of the average citizen of any affected nation will become. It doesn't help that burger celebrities, politicians, media and companies are all feeding their population the idea that they should totally pay more than they can afford in oil, gas and food to bash the fash.
I said in the old thread that something "good" that has come out of this mess is that maybe it opened the eyes of many people that the government can just turn off your money and that companies will stop you from using their services if they deemed you problematic enough, today is russia, but who knows who or what will be in the future?

Idk, you could argue that the technological changes are so massive those doctrines are barely connected to what the Germans did, zince it combines long range communication, mechanical elements and massive range of movement into enemy territory.
Something that was undreamt of, decades earlier.

The biggest change of "Blitzkrieg" from past military doctrine was using combined, coordinated air & armor as a spearhead to beat up enemy defenses prior to infantry rolling in. There was no equivalent of armor in the 19th century. This contrasted with Allied tank doctrine, which envisioned tanks rolling along ahead of or with advancing infantry in trench warfare. Such tanks didn't need to be fast or have radios; they needed thick armor and big guns.

Call it what you will - exploiting the speed of mechanized units and building tactics around them was certainly a new thing in WW2.
