Mega Rad Gun Thread

Anyone know anyplace else that sells pre-pinned/welded 9mm AR barrels like this, that have more than 5in actual rifling? This one has 10in of rifling and I dig it for a 9mm upper build but these guys have been out of stock for a while.

I've found stuff like these from Odin Works (I may have seen something similar from Faxon), where they pin a 16in aluminum shroud around a 5.5in barrel, but that's barely longer than my G34 barrel and the Taccom 10in would give a bit extra punch, and the "brake" has a bit more pizzazz than the Odin. (they also have a 13/16 model that's also out of stock, but I like the 10/16)

I guess another option would be getting a 6in brake and having it pinned to a 10in barrel myself, but 6in brakes aren't easy to find either, and I'd rather save the time/cost of a pin/weld job.
FYI if anyone's interrested: the Taccom 9mm 10/16s are again available to order. I'm just waiting to hear back if they'll cut a deal if I pick up a BCG at the same time.

Side note: are 9mm PCCs prone to FTFs (I'll be doing mine with a Stern or Sylvan magwell adapter)? I ask because I'm trying to figure out if the Taccom BCG is worth it, as it natively mates with their top-ramped barrel. Otherwise I A: discard the Taccom top ramp altogether, or B: get a cheaper BCG and send it to Taccom to be cut for the top ramp.

My favorite 3D printing guy has been busy.... but is he Russian?

If I had my druthers, I'd find a way to convert a HiPoint carbine to FA, with the proper stamps, even just as a dealer sample. Those things are seriously underrated, and I expect eventually we'll see them on Forgotten Weapons.

Funny you mention Romeo5, because it was the Romeo5.

The Romeo5 is great. I have it on this beast:

All the issues of the HiPoint pistols are basically negated in the PCC form* so they are surprisingly adequate, but really you'd be putting lipstick on a pig. If you're going to go through the hassle of making something FA with the expense and effort why not choose something good? Then again if you're a dealer with a room full of machine guns having a dumb gimmick like that might make sense.

*Straight blowback is a big hassle in a pistol, but the weight and size in a carbine is fine. The carbines larger size simplifies manufacture. The form factor of a carbine makes it less awkward to shoot. I'm telling you a pistol with fixed barrel blowback in 9mm or over is a mistake bro.

tax returns are coming and i'm torn between a glock 20 or a nice sturdy roof rack for my car since they're around the same price. i'd normally abstain from a glock but i like the idea of one in 10mm.
I heard boo hoo my car rattles or I want a cool ass gun.

Duh. Jokes aside, a g20 is an awesome buy and my daily carry, do you reload? Sadly 10mm is a reloaders round because so many load down to like 40 specs still. Otherwise your buying underwood buffalo bore etc.

I hate glocks and all being a snob and retard, but as mentioned its my literal EDC gun because fuck it's a good pistol. But down side (ammo) listed, tbh if you load yourself do it if not... even in a gun thread get a nice roof rack my dude(ette). I esp want a roof rack I just put my skis in my Jaguar and it was a fucking nightmare and I was shitting bricks each time touching brakes wasn't going to cost me a window.

200gr at 1200f/s or 180gr at 1300f/s from a 5" barrel is what you want to see, and there's around a dozen manufacturers that meet that spec with one or two products. the bullet is easy, it's simply the powder charge that varies and 10mm doesn't have the headroom to easily go over pressure unless you're mixing powder or using something like 10gr of Unique. Federal Syntech AE10SJ1 is 205gr at 1150f/s out of a 6" barrel for example, which is in the ballpark and that product is relatively inexpensive. Ammo Inc Signature is 180gr at 1200f/s from a 6" barrel, and that too is in the ballpark for the "correct" 10mm Auto load.

rolling 150gr should get around 1400f/s if you want to cannibalize .40 bulk bullets.

How many guns can the roof rack carry tho? More than the standard 2 for the shottys that get hung on back window inside the truck?

In all seriousness everyone likes the glock20 but me , doesn't fit my hands well (girl hands?) And I don't like the style, but my ex had several and is a big fan so, in the words of the craps dealer, You Do You Shooter!

Also you can probably find one cheaper than a roof rack, but ima broke bitch kiwi that likes to think I'm getting a good deal when I wear cleavage tops to the gun shop.

Maybe if you know any big tit-eed women to help close the sale u could get both a rack used at an affordable price (do you have Toys for Trucks or anything like that?)

I'd offer my tits to help negotiate but we'll have to wait for the kiwi patches to arrive, for your safety as well as mine:)

doesn't fit my hands well
the Glock 20 is a modified .45 frame and is a bit chunky. if you have smaller hands where the Glock 20 is uncomfortable to use, try a CZ 97B 10mm conversion or an EAA Witness Compact, which comes in 10mm. they tend to be much more agreeable for smaller hands with a rounded shape and controls that are within reach and intuitive. a shorter frame (front to back), like the Glock 20 SF might also be an option.

Thanks fren, I'll look into the CZ. I tried the witness. It felt too flimsy and unsubstantial in my hand, dunno how to describe it beyond that.

So far the only .45 I like is the Kimber II, it holds and shoots like a dream for me. It felt like it had less kick than the 9mm.
I just don't like the prices

well i'm not sure how a steel frame and slide pistol would be "flimsy", but if you like the 1911 design, there are a lot of 10mm 1911's out there, although the 1911 design is prone to frame and/or slide cracking over time. the Ruger 6739 (SR1911 10mm Auto) is affordable, full featured, and if you like the feel of a narrower pistol, might be something you would like.

Winchester just came out with a 10mm in their Ready Defense line. They are pushing a 180gr bullet at 1250fps. I believe that’s their one with the insert in the hollow point cavity to keep it from plugging with material and not opening up. They were pushing it at Shot Show this year. Dunno if it’s been released yet.

They're either underequipping and not giving their newest tech to the conscripts on the frontlines (which is shit we should have known was a dumb idea since WWI), or their Ratnik program wasn't as impressive, up-to-date, or thorough as they claimed it was. In theory standard kit should be the AK-12/15 with optics.
