From that article, they seem to be referring to the troops that were sent. Basically say that troops and equipment are mostly intact.

Yeah, so that's basically 200000 or so from what I remember. So according to the Pentagon, that's 10000 casualties. Not far off from what the hohols were claiming.

Which doesn't mean shit because Russia still has 190000 troops ready to roll but interesting to note.

Recent "95% report" kinda smells, but if it's true, western world's in for reality check. No matter how you look at it, russkie millitary's still russkie millitary. Despite not taking kiev in 3 hours, they're keeping hohols at bay(for the most part) without committing to full-scale ops in the latest 3-4 days. That is, of course, if you can trust the info received from ISW.

Anyone find it hilarious after a week of the EU and US screeching at Poland to give Ukraine their Migs the Poles are now offering to transfer them directly to the USAF in Germany for free so the US can transfer them to Ukraine and now the US is refusing to take them?
Nobody actually wants to start WW3. Nobody actually wants to fight Russia right now, it's all posturing.

As far as 5% of 200k casualties, keep in mind casualties do not mean deaths. It includes injured as well. Russia reported 500 dead and a few thousand injured last week. Then they upped the pressure.

John McCain has been resurrected!
Oh, sorry no. This is from 5 years ago

"McCain And Graham Caught Inciting Ukraine To Attack Russia

A video has surfaced online in which warmongers John McCain and Lindsey Graham are caught meeting with the Ukraine military, encouraging them to launch an offensive against Russia and restart hostilities, all the while describing Russia as the “aggressor” that must “pay a heavier price.
Lindsey Graham delivers an incendiary speech in the video, egging on the Ukranian troops to re-start hostilities with Russia.
Your fight is our fight, 2017 will be the year of offense. All of us will go back to Washington and we will push the case against Russia. Enough of a Russian aggression. It is time for them to pay a heavier price.

John McCain was no less provocative:"

No. Also, imagine believing anything reported on by the American Bureau of Communists.
Well, people here seemed to be using it as a claim that Russian casualties were inflated and Ukrainians were totally lying. Now that the realization settled in that this isn't necessarily what is being claimed, people are backpedaling real quick.

For the record, Russia is still gonna take this, it just seems that the Ukrainians aren't BSing about making it extremely painful for them.

Shell first promised to exit all its joint ventures in Russia. Then after it got caught buying some Russian oil on the sport market, it promised to stop buying any Russian oil.
The exit of the joint ventures is financially very painful. They are having to write off multiple billions of dollars in assets. And if they ever want to go back into Russia in the future, everything has to be re-negotiated from square one. BP and Shell's future as companies is also directly impacted by the loss of their Russian assets. The future of oil companies is always determined by the oil assets they have access to in the future. Both BP and Shell post-war will have a whole lot less of them.

The spot market stuff is more of a sad joke. What Shell has committed to do is not to directly buy Russian oil on the spot market that it knows is Russian. But there is nothing to prevent russian oil being sold by third parties on the spot market to shell without shell knowing.
Without them knowing. Lol.

Time to setup a shell company to sell to shell.

Ppssssst. I have 500,000,000 barrels of crude that fell off the back of a tanker, wanna buy?

This is literally just a war of attrition.

The war map I've been looking at shows them starting to approach the Kiev area from the north and east. Their strategy in that region seems to be to bottle up and bypass as many Ukranian forces as possible. Get them to make a stand in a town and then bypass them. I counted eight or nine different pockets that exist now in the north between Kiev and Kharkov. Its a risky strategy because they have to hold alot of ground behind their front. But its a strategy that could explain alot of what they are doing.
By separating, isolating and pinning down progressively more and more of the Ukrainian Army, they are weakening it and greatly limiting its ability to concentrate or maneuver. In an oddly ironic way, its similar to the Taliban's endgame strategy in Afghanistan where they were able to cut all the highways, isolate just about all the Afghan Army units from each other and then pick them off one by one.
Its just a theory, but its kind of interesting.

This reminds me (and may be part of the strategy) but we’ve heard nothing about Ukrainian deserters - not even ones being shot. Losing a uniform and slipping away into the cities becomes more and more attractive, and all wars have them …

Why should I take the people sending tanks into a neighboring country at their word when they refuse to call their armed invasion a war? Even the U.S. was honest about calling the war in Iraq a war.

Electric vehicles are not fucking sustainable you retarded asshole, lithium is expensive & has a limited shelf life, Teslas are constantly breaking down & excessively difficult to repair.

This is why I refuse to get an electric car. Correct me if I am wrong, but I am certain that the parts from them can arguably cause more damage to the environment compared to your modern day gas car.

I think there has been quite a few news report on Ukrainian border guards catching their males trying to flee the country. But you're right, none on deserters, and surprisingly few propaganda pieces from the RUS side on them surrendering as well. (Though I do not blame Russia for this lol. It'd probably be much easier to find on VK or their news channels).

yeah basically all the shit going into making batteries for your solar and electrics assrape the planet a fuckload more than mining and burning coal

Well, now that things really are going downhill for Ukraine regarding Kyiv (or Kiev whatever) let's have a discussion regarding Russia's endgame victory lap. Because we don't know if what they claim they want is actually their main goal.

With Kyiv (or Kiev whatever) nearing encirclement within the next couple days, what do you Ukraine's fate will be?
