A Kentucky -based virtual sex education summer camp taught young attendees how to masturbate, obtain an abortion, and have sex while on drugs.
The "Sexy Sex Ed" camp was a virtual camp based out of Hazard, Kentucky, that took place in the summer of 2021. The organizers have been operating sex education workshops for children since 2012, according to their website.


The camp first gained attention on Twitter Tuesday after the account Libs of Tik Tok and Manhattan Institute scholar Christopher Rufo shared information about the camp, including details about the camp curriculum, which included a workshop on masturbation in which "participants ... learn techniques to make the most of their masturbation experience."

According to its website, "Sexy Sex Ed is a workshop series that compels teenagers and people of all ages to openly discuss personal and political consent, sexual safety, and anatomy." The age ranges for the 2021 camp were not listed on the website, and it is not known if the camp will be held again in 2022.

"Using visual & performance art, open dialogue, and popular education methods, Sexy Sex Ed fills a vital gap in reproductive education as a creative, cultural healing solution in rural Appalachia," the website says.

From July 6 to Aug. 26 of 2021, the workshop expanded to a virtual summer camp that charged attendees up to $500. Among the sessions of the camp were "The Three P's: Pee, Poop, and Pleasure," "Sex on Drugs," and "Over-sexualization and Policing of Blackness."

The lesson plan for the "Sex on Drugs" day said the workshop "will explore the nuances of engaging in sexual activity while using licit and illicit drugs."

"Together, we will explore why people engage in sexual activity while on drugs; the nuances of substance use and consent; and harm reduction strategies around having sex on substances," the course plan says.

Sexy Sex Ed was founded by Tanya Turner, who describes herself as "a femme, fat, queer, magical pleasure worker, educator, and artist," according to a biography that was on Sexy Sex Ed's website.

Headshots and biographies of Turner and the other "educators" with Sexy Sex Ed were available on the website early in the afternoon on Tuesdaybut were taken down sometime after 1:30 p.m. EST as tweets by Rufo highlighting the camp's activities went viral.

Sexy Sex Ed did not respond to a request for comment.

The workshops put on by Sexy Sex Ed have been profiled by CNN, among other news outlets.

I researched this, just to make sure it wasn't some conservative freak out. I support sex ed, I think factual based and age appropriate sex ed is beneficial.

That being said, this shit sounds like straight up grooming. Again, I read this with an open mind and then went on to research it some more. It's actually worse than what the article shows. There is no reason to teach kids how to masturbate, I don't care if it's just verbal. Seriously, kids don't need to know how to do that.

Talking about BDSM is also not good. Unless you bring it up to say "Hey, BSDM is trending right now, but it's actually very dangerous and you shouldn't do it". Which this group isn't doing.

Bringing drug use into the discussion is just asking for trouble. In a world where we're trying to teach children about what consent is and how important it is, why the HELL would they encourage having sex while under the influence?

The most shocking thing I found was how the ladies in charge of this aren't troons. I expected them to be, given the nature of this camp.

I looked at any videos I could find, and I thankfully didn't see any young kids there. One woman did bring their baby, but it wasn't actually participating.

Most of the people there appeared to be gender specials in high school. However, there was one clip where there was a normal looking young man there who looked like he absolutely did not want to be there, and he was the only male there. Poor guy.

I won't get too into detail as most of my direct experience comes from volunteer work. Most of these people are too poor for the internet and it's an important mental delineation I'd like to keep to. I don't know these people's full story, the only reason I know anything is because they asked for much needed assistance. It's a bad look for volunteers to specifically trash-talk people behind their backs and I know how hard some places have to look for people to ask in areas they know need assistance. It's bleak though. In general:

The state boundary is immediately noticeable because it goes from quality roads to worse than many dirt roads I travelled. While other hillbillies might have places that have degraded, there's migration or replacement/development to spur growth. For some reason this does not seem to happen in Kentucky. Being white-trash myself I like to think I have a decent "nose" for sniffing out unfortunate genetics. From my experience you would need some kind of complex geometry to accurately model the depth and breadth of inbreeding going on.

There's lots of white nigger-cattle for lack of a better term. Most look like they need a humorous tuba soundtrack playing as they waddle around town. A good half of the skinny people are obviously heavy into meth. Their thieving and criminal ways seem in line with meth-goblins of any other provenance. The amount is the remarkable thing. The people from Kentucky I have met that don't seem to have some variety of tragic affliction are all people that had the good sense to get the fuck out of there at any cost. I didn't really understand the woes of the rust belt until I could see it for myself.
