Because he wants to be as lazy as possible. He'd have to remember information for each restaurant and he'd have to look them up on google (his third greatest nemesis) when he can just browse on an app. He has no concept of value, after all he genuinely believes that restaurants are cheaper than making it himself.
His complaints about the lineup makes less sense because he has no idea of what a good line up would be and he definitely has no idea on what he wants. He complains about a lack of "new" games buts ignores Strive and Melty blood, which have never been seen at evo and Skullgirls hasn't been seen on the main stage. The obvious question to ask him is what would be a "good" line up for evo, which would please everyone from the community to the companies to even the sponsors. A line up that appeals to the smaller communities that could use a chance to prove themselves while also having the big guys to ensure viewership and sponsors. Simply put, he'd never be able to do it.
Exactly. Before he had his mobile game habit, he went into debt so he could fund his SF 'career'. Or he spent it on figurines. Or whatever caught his fancy. But the mobile game addiction is honestly one of the most pathetic ways to spend money. At least with the other things he spent money on there was an actual object or experience. So maybe his life would be a bit better if he didn't have it.
History has shown that getting Phil kicked from stuff isn't that hard, you just have to have the right angle, and/or be patient. If he is going to lose YT, it won't be from saying bad words, it'll be from treating memberships as crowdfunding, when YT ToS specifically states that it is not to be handled that way. And Phil can't get out of it by merely dropping the word "crowdfunding" from his daily spiel, he has to actually start rewarding members, or he can be given the boot.
This is true, but like I've pointed out, he hasn't been on a payment plan with the IRS the same length of time has been making enough money to owe a shitload in taxes every year. For all his waste, prior to starting to whale out on Champions in a really big way, Phil still afforded his shit well enough. None of his other vices have shown signs of being able to escalate the way gacha has. Maybe BECAUSE of gacha, admittedly, but given Phil's lack of taste, I'm doubtful. I can't seem him slowly evolving from whatever crap he gets drunk on now to some vintage wine that costs more per bottle than a whole keg of beer. Or moving from over-priced but still cheap food to ordering burgers that Gordan Ramsay would approve of.

I'm guessing the reason his prior spending on the figurines/collecting didn't reach gacha levels is simply because it's physical. With gacha $100 it is a few clicks away and then forgotten about. Figurine collecting is much more of a process and there is that constant physical reminder of it.

All I know is that DSP described the BlazeBlue fighting game series as a Twink Fighter, and he has been saying this for years. If I recall, it is because its a fast paced fighting game which Phil tends to dislike. Honestly, I don't play fighting games nor heard anyone call BlazeBlue or any fast paced fighting game that. It might be some homophobic phrase Dave made up to seem hip and cool to insult a game and its players.
