I am ok with the court taking their sweet time responding to the Fremantle lawsuit.
Russell Greer is on a deadline. Every day that goes by is another delay in getting The Accommodations back together (or getting new ones), and rehearsing for Greer's nationally televised debut and subsequent meteoric rise to fame and fortune. He has to be thinking about that.
I've had no success finding out when AGT begins taping this year. Greer has written that it is in April/May. No idea if that is correct. Last year, taping began March 28.
Imagine it is one month from now and still nothing from the court. Imagine the panicked, nonsensical, improper filings. Emergency motion to shorten time for the court. "Greer does not think the court UNDERSTANDS what is at stake. Greer RESPECTFULLY submits that filming is about to start and if the court doesn't hurry up, he'll miss his chance and have to wait a WHOLE YEAR, which is against the public interest and would cause Greer IRREPARABLE EMOTIONAL AND FINANCIAL HARM. He is an eggshell skull defendant and missing the opportunity would hurt his feelings FAR MORE than than a non-disabled person. He would vomit. And panic. And lose more hair. And be haunted and taunted by having to watch the season go on without him. He would have to keep working boring, low skilled jobs where nobody appreciates his talent and ambition, and miss out on a WHOLE YEAR of the big-time songwriter $$$$ he'd be earning if he were on the show this year. Greer reminds the court that AGT is the ONLY WAY he can ever become a real songwriter. As a disabled person, there are not and NEVER WILL BE be any other options for him to get into 'the biz' (such as networking locally and working his way up from the bottom) so this court and Fremantle/Marathon would be responsible for irreparable harm to his career."
Imagine waiting and waiting. Still nothing from the court. And then Heidi Klum announces on Instagram that she's back on set for AGT season 17.
