Even with most of the media (habitually) on his side, it will be pretty hilarious to see how CNN, MSNBC and the New York Times will try to spin this as a ”optimistic” thing.

All three of those describe the 1/6 committee, I'd say, since that's the tack they're taking and why they're so desperate to make that insurrection label stick. It seems their only hope of preventing Trump from running again is to use Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment, claiming that he participated in a rebellion against the United States after swearing to defend the Constitution, and is thus disbarred from holding public office again. It's the only reason the committee exists; well, that, and also using blatantly unconstitutional powers to dig up any dirt on their political enemies that they can.
I see all manner of issues with attempting to make this happen, however. The most obvious is that the committee is pretty much operating outside of the law, and any evidence used to support their insurrection claims could arguably be thrown out in court if it ever gets that far. There's also the Amnesty Act of 1872 that more or less nullified Section 3 in the case of former Confederates, which was used by a federal judge to throw out a lawsuit against Madison Cawthorn, so I guess the argument is that unless that law is replaced by a newer one that states that Trump is a big meanie doodoohead and can't run for president, its precedent stands. IANAL, however, and who knows how it could end up once it fully works its way through the system.

You have no idea what you are talking about. I literally just explained to you what disqualifies you from running for president, I literally just explained to you that the senate has the right to add disqualification from running for office as part of the punishment imposed on a conviction following an impeachment. It is their decision whether its imposed or not
As for the constitution, article 14 is quite clear about the ability to disqualify anyone from running for office for engaging in insurrection or rebellion. In other words, treason. I'll say it again - this is the reason the left has been so adamant about either getting trump impeached and convicted - even after leaving office, or hitting him with responsibility over the january 6 'insurrection.' Its been an explicitly stated goal since it happened. Its the reason it keeps getting called an insurrection and why before that they kept accusing him of being a traitor, particularly in regards to russia

The new Wall Street Journal poll is pretty brutal when looking at the cross tabs. Biden's favorability is 41%, Trump is 48%. His handling of inflation is underwater by 29 points, and when asked who they trust to rebuild the economy, those polled said they trust the Republicans by 13 points. This poll was done mostly with suburban and urban voters, only 22% of those polled were rural citizens. Another question said they trusted Republicans to get inflation under control by 17 points.

It could be anyone of the people you mentioned sans Harris. There were people who wanted to help Biden get into office, and all he probably had to do was take the positions they wanted him to in return for help. Something like selling his soul if he had still had one. Now I guess he owes souls at this point.
Same with Harris -she might have had no interest in the work, but she'd we willing to play ball if she got there. Turns out neither of them are up to the task, but the role of president is more or less to be power broker: all the people who put him in office want is his signature on their legislation packages.
Maybe it doesn't matter that the two of them are fuck-ups, maybe it's jus they'll let the patients run the asylum. I don't think any of them counted on the rest of the world noticing and taking advantage of their ineptitude, though. The current crop of people trying to run the government now don't understand that the country isn't stronge because it's America, it's strong because the people before them made it way and tried to keep it that way.
