What the hell is going on with his head movements lately? Whenever he isn't gesticulating wildly while blathering incoherently, he makes these weird head-turns away from the camera, almost like a mild cringe, or wince? Someone posted an extreme example of it earlier. Its definitely a more recent thing.

Also, traffic must be as bad as LA for it to triple the travel time. Moving to the Seattle area was definitely one of the worst decisions he ever made, second only to becoming a streamer. It consistently ranks above LA as the most expensive city in the country, and in some lists is second only to New York. As far as housing goes, its outrageous, and even worse, Renton is considered an overpriced shithole even for Seattle. The only reason a sane person would have for living there would be family/roots, a good non-remote job, a very specific scene you need to be a part of, shit like that. So why is Phil, a guy who never leaves his house, living there? Its bleeding him dry, and is one of the main reasons, after gacha, that he can never catch up financially. He could do this job anywhere. If he moved to Arkansas or some shit, he could have an insane boost to quality of life, which lets be ahnest, would just mean more Hogan pulls, but still, that's his metric for luxury. I think he just wanted to move to a big city to prove he was a serious khantent creator so he could impress Panda and dab on his detractor parents for telling him to get a real job. Since its Phil, of course he didn't do any research, he literally can't google how to reset a router, so I doubt he could conceive of googling something as abstract as cost-of-living despite being a Finance Major valedictorian.

I never understood the logic behind the move, you have the option to 'work' from literally anywhere on the planet as long as you can get internet access and this nitwit chooses a gated community in Seattle. He could have bought a nice house with a big fat gate all around it for a fraction of what he's going to dump into his duplex or whatever he lives in.

Renton is 15 miles away from Seattle. Even if DSP was hitting the I-5 during rush hour, it still wouldn't take an hour to get to Seattle.

Google maps actually adjusts estimates in anticipation for traffic. Its not perfect but I find its pretty accurate. Even when adjusting to rush hour traffic, his house to downtown Seattle never went above 45 minutes. Thats worst case scenario too,, the low end is less than 30. Its obvious he never drives highway and like usual, is talking out of his ass.

Phil also says he's following a Horizon streamer who "is in love with the game"

From what we know, he did research but half assed it like he does everything else.

The initial reason for a move at all outside of CT was because he didn't want to pay business occupation taxes to the state since they were reportedly very high...not that he wants to pay taxes anyway. Moving out to WA meant that shit would be lower or not present at all. I wouldn't know, I don't own a business, but there is validity in doing what he did since other companies do it all the time; a PC builder recently got in hot water for tax evasion for stating they operate out of North Carolina when they're based in San Francisco for pretty much the same reason.

The thing is he failed to account for the cost of living for the area since he was concerned with dodging taxes. He and Leanna considered several states, including Florida I think, but didn't choose those because they didn't like the weather. Bear in mind Leanna was like 20 at the time so her being s dumb bitch is acceptable but Phil has no excuse. Even if he wanted to move out to WA he didn't need to be close to Seattle since he doesn't take advantage of it. He could have been out in the sticks and had a decently sized house with a fuckton of land for much the same reason if he wanted to take up horse husbandry in the future...which he eventually did.

Any adult male getting this hyped about digital characters is silly for sure, but I don't necessarily think he's insinuating anything creepy about Joel and Ellie here, just their reunification in the flashback after the shitsoaked hellworld that is most of TLOU2. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of seriously fucked up degens who make that sort of commentary/content, I just don't see it here. Maybe if there's other shit he's said about it. But yea, getting worked up over Horzion is so weird, just seems like another generic ubisoft-type open world game with shallow mechanics from different genres mashed together into a bland slurry. Chimping over the protag is also weird, I always thought she was poorly designed and looked sort of fetal-alcoholly. I guess they were going for a look like the wildling chick from GOT, but she was pretty cute, I'm sure she's 20/10 in Scotland.

Ahhh that's right, I remember now. Yea it was a bizness tax thing, and yes, he didn't do all the math because Finance Majors all know that math is banned. Phil can only hold one big idea in his head at a time, and he was just obsessing over taxes and didn't take a moment to consider any other possible factors. The best part is that his CT tax attorney apparently fucked him over by pretending to know WA tax law, if we are to believe his back taxes narrative. Its just insane the traps he sets up for himself. I remember he would vlog when doing anything with Panda for a while, and he mentioned that one of their vacations was a business expense since he was vlogging. He probably thought he cracked the code of the fucking universe when he came up with that one. Its seriously so hard to get fucked up over taxes if you aren't doing illegal shit. I've seen borderline tards run small businesses well and manage to stay on the right side of the government. I would fucking kill to know what goes on in Phil's brain when he makes decisions.
