Th is 🕰️Late, but, soon after the war between Rossiya nd Ukraïna started, some people decided to learn Ukraïnian.

Of course, Duolingo put out a news article on the two languages around tha time:

I do not blame Duolingo; I actually feel tha they have truly, honestly altruistic reasons behind that article.
I also feel tha those who learn Ukraïnian because of the war are doing that Ralph Wiggum 'i'm helping' meme... or at leas that Will Smith 'He a little confused, but he got the spirit' meme. Like... that has them feel tha they are helping, that has them expres solidarity, but what good would that do in practise? Are they doing that out of actua love of Ukraïnians, or do they just wan to feel good abou themselves and virtue signal? Moreover, would they still have learned Ukraïnian if Ukraïne was in peaceful times?
Of course, what about Rossiyan? Tonnes of Rossiyans are being hurt in this war too... especially overseas, where they are being lumped together with Vladimir?
Tbf, if one's nation were to receive potentially tens, if not hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian refugees, it would be useful for that host nation's citizens to be able to speak Ukrainian, especially if they are working in the accommodation of those refugees.

So Russia using Tucker clips means he is a Russian asset. Ah fuck it these niggers aren't known for common sense and critical thinking anyways, they're just looking for an excuse to hate him.
I can't wait to see how 'Brave' Zelensky is portrayed in the media when he inevitably calls for the final suicidal push with four men for every gun.
It really reminds me of WW2 Germany with the government recruiting cripples, children, and the elderly male population into Volksturms where they weren't even equipped and using whatever they could get their hands on.

As far as war is concerned, the average American's brain might as well be rotting cabbage. Some things to keep in mind:
  1. The last time there was a war of technological parity on the American homeland with a foreign adversary was 1812.
  2. The last time there was a war of technological parity on the American homeland at all was 1865.
  3. The last time Americans faced then-modern tanks was 1945.
  4. The last time American troops faced serious artillery was 1953.
  5. The last time American troops faced meaningful threats from the air was 1975
  6. The USA has, to this day, never taken more deaths in a war than it did from 1861-1865.
The fact that basically every country we want to fuck with except Russia is completely unable to meaningfully strike us resulted in the dumbest military doctrine of all human history. During the 1990s, the USA adopted a philosophy that American missile strikes, special forces raids, and aircraft bombings are not, on their own, acts of war. They're "international police actions" that we can do because we're The Good Guys. This led to the US government, and Americans in general, being completely unable to see the 9/11 attacks as the latest escalation in a long war. Somewhere along the way, we also adopted the doctrine that arming, advising, and funding a revolution is also not an act of war against the country we do it to.

Americans, despite fighting endless wars, don't really know what war is, and we don't respect it. Because we don't respect it, we don't fear it.
America has spent so much time shooting at illiterate goat herders that its doctrine is fucked.

Like, how much emphasis the US Army has placed on "We own the night", with the use of NVGs. The problem is that while it allowed them to use their technological supremacy against an inferior enemy, it's totally fucked against an actual military.

NVGs aren't a massive advantage when the other side has them as well. And more then that, they've developed doctrine that is dependent on the other side not having NVGs. Like how IR lasers and lights became the de-facto way to aim weapons while using NVGs. Easy way to aim, but if the other side also has NVGs, they are just a massive beacon to show them exactly where you are:

It's fun to laugh at Russia's growing pains at the start of the invasion, but the American military is probably in for one hell of a reality check if it ever deviates from its current track record of only militarily pubstomping n00bs.

This would be kind of deja vous all over again

Not to get too schizoid paranoid - but other than the morale boosting one could consider that an ""upside"" to the "Ukrainians are btfo'ing Russians left and right" narrative is a setup for the "desperate and enraged Russians resort to chemical weapons" narrative. Hard to sell it if Russia is steadily winning.

you'd think it'd be a hard sell with the Russians slowly but surely gaining ground, but is it even possible to overestimate the gullibility of Americans?

Some of my friends are getting on my nerves, they have found new life purpose in helping out (driving to the border, picking up people from Ukrainian border and driving them to the cities in poland, donating stuff, my one friend just bought a campervan specifically to give Ukrainian family a place to sleep).

Now this is all good and shows great empathy (albeit not completely selfless because a lot of the pictures and videos showing their activism get posted on their social media accounts, so yeah a bit self serving) BUT we are about have a very serious humanitarian crisis.

Where is EU? Where is Frontex? Where is UNICEF? They need to get their fucking shit together and start getting some of these people transported elsewhere.

Warsaw can't cope for much longer and soon we will have thousands of people including children sleeping and shitting on the streets.

By the way..guess which organization owns a lot of big empty properties, is supposed to be charitable by nature, is super rich and their members dont have much to do...Catholic Church, they have done fuck all.

Absolute zero. Fat pedophiles in black dresses in Poland are keeping their churches locked and their money in their pockets.

Shame on these cunts.

Night Vision is still very useful even if the enemy has it. In that case, you wouldn't use IR lasers unless you are indoors or briefly as a rangefinder/designator and you'd treat IR illuminators with the same discipline as a white light. It is 100% possible to look through a red dot while wearing night vision which will work great for any range the laser would. For long range shooting, there are night vision devices that are mounted in front of the scope, and are used like any normal daytime scope. If both sides have this equipment, then they are on level ground, just like they are during the day.

They seem to not be able to grasp the concept that once you go to war, you’re a target not matter what. I’m genuinely wondering if consuming media entertainment from childhood messed up their perception of reality.
Yes. Live and grow up around these people. They have no idea what its like and expect the "good guys" to win

I despise the social media shenanigans. But I do understand wanting to help. Shame about the religious groups not helping though, reminds me of the hypocritical megachurch organizations we have here in America.
