If only these people cared half as much when the West fucks shit up all over the Middle East, North Africa, and Latin America. Difficult as it might sound, some countries don't have to completely fuck over other countries to exist.

I'm reminded of a certain French dude who told everybody to stop trading with the Brits, but the Portuguese, Rossians, and a fuckton of smugglers across Europe just said no and kept on trading. When this french dude reeed enough about it, everybody basically ganged up, butt rapped him and his country, and then send him to die on an island in the middle of the ocean. Not the most fitting of analogies, but threaten the wallets of everybody long enough and they'll come for yours.

America has a very strong culture based around personal freedoms even if it's lost some of its edge. Even the worst libs tend to want to keep their ability to do drugs, fuck each other, and the like.
I really don't see it going the way of China because Chinese citizens are the complete opposite. They have willingly given up their freedoms and placed everything in the government's hands for the sake of security. The government isn't just something formed for society to function, it's a patriarchal figure and going against it is seen as going against everyone else as well.
It's not a trade most people in the states are willing to make, if only because half the time the government isn't their favorite color.
In the Covid thread someone sperg posted a wall of text about how China works. They were ethnically Chinese and had immigrated to the west. They wrote up a giant spectacle about how the Chinese are all brainwashed morons following despotic leaders, blah blah. But the one point that made the most sense is the Mandate Of Heaven shit. Basically it boiled down to if you as an adversary waxed China's leadership, it would be over in a heartbeat. I did a bunch of research and this appears to be true. The masses literally can't think for themselves. If they do, they get the fuck out of the country, they get imprisoned, or they just shut the fuck up permanently.

telegram info about tomorrow negotiations.
We might unironically see a Z & putin meeting sometime in the future, after all both sides have said that they are willing to meet in person.
Riiiiiight.

from what i know about it the whole 'mandate of heaven' idea just boils down to a fancy way of saying "might makes right"
they argue that a ruler successfully taking and holding power is a sign of heavenly approval which means his position as ruler is justified. on the other hand, if a ruler loses power or is overthrown, it's a sign that he has lost heven's approval and thus deserves to fall from power.

I believe it. They're not individualist and that probably permeates their doctrine. If you destroyed their command structure there would probably be a collapse of their forces shortly after.

i don't, i'm pointing out tha the west isn't much better about this.
in china the state does the surveillance directly, in the west tech corporations do it instead, the end result is similar.
for now the major difference is that the westerners are behind the curve by a couple years, maybe a decade, when it comes to how thorough their monitoring is and how powerful their surveillance capabilities are. but in the long term they will catch up, i am sure of it.
China's government has a symbiotic relationship with their citizenry. You have to accept CCP's legitimacy and not do things that undermine the state. In return CCP is kinda receptive to your needs and go out of their way to fix shit, sometimes. Many people also join the party willingly because it is lucrative, secure and bonds people across an otherwise absurdly large country and population. Its surveillance is there, sure. It's also nowhere near as efficient as people make it out to be, and most state officials couldn't give a shit if you cross the firewall. Western countries and Russia are also replete with big advanced surveillance systems, they just employ them with less rigour and are more clandestine with how this state apparatus is employed.

This. Russians are European bodies with Tatar souls. It's not a bad thing, but Russians aren't European. They're just LARPing as Europeans since Peter I.
I would imagine those around the Baltic would be "fairly" Euro, and from then on the Euro identity would go increasingly down the further the people are from St. Petersburg. But I'm just taking a guess fueled by vodka.

I visited China pre-covid, and I don't think Chinese people are brainwashed, it's just survival instinct. They don't necessarily agree with everything the party does, they just go along with it because what are you going to do? Imagine the hopelessness a lot of us feel towards the actions of our own government, times 10. It is, genuinely, oppressive.
When I sussed out some people I was speaking with were basically westaboos, I joked about how serious everyone else was and about the party. They looked at me like I just showed them a bomb. I still keep up with one of them, but I know better than to talk politics. Last thing we talked about was their siblings being upset about 'video game curfews.' He actually owns a Nintendo Switch, which I believe doesn't have any such restrictions, and he was annoyed he was probably going to have to share it.

America has a very strong culture based around personal freedoms even if it's lost some of its edge. Even the worst bootlickers tend to want to keep their own freedoms. They wouldn't agree to something that, to some extent, hamstrings their own liberty.

America has a culture of freedom, China has a culture of compliance, and Europe has a culture of watering fields with the blood of young men because one man in a silly hat disagreed with another man in a silly hat over where a line on a map should be.
