I don't want to power level too hard, but a good friend of mine has recently left to join up with the foreign volunteers against my advice. I'm deeply afraid he will suffer this fate, but I also know that he made his bed when he decided that he would fight for a country he has never been to ostensibly to fight for freedom and democracy, while in reality I think he's simply living out a fantasy that he's had ever since he was rejected from our military on medical grounds.
Ive said it before in another thread but some people just want a reason to die that isnt just "I give up". Or some variant.

I think even a pretty committed person would hesitate kicking the stool out from under themselves, but you frame it as "Hey your life sucks, you dont really have anything to live for. But check this out, well send you halfway around the world, you couldnt afford that, well give you a gun and teach you to shoot, youre on the right side of history! And wouldnt you like a chance to start again?"

Theyve been recruiting soldiers like that since forever. And men are notoriously reckless, a lot of dudes will step up and go "Sure Ill roll the dice."
MeatTarget's Children: Mum where is dad?
Wife: Got blown up in a war that did not involve him or his country. The fuckin retard.
lol He said he was retarded.

"We will mortar them from the roofs of crowded hospitals.
We will shoot at them from the windows of elementary schools.
We will hide our ammo dumps in apartments, and suburbs, and in our refugee evacuation points.
We will hide behind civilians till the end.

We shall never surrender!"

A hilarious continuation of Redditors from r/UkrainianConflict and r/Ukraine being salty that most of the world doesn’t give a fuck about this conflict and will continue to trade with Russia as usual.

Edit: Just for maximum lulz, here is r/Ukraine’s response to Europe increasing its flow of Russian gas.

WE NEED TO SANCTION INDIA FOR HAVING THE TEMERITY TO NOT WANT TO STOP BUYING RUSSIAN GAS AND FOOD BECAUSE OTHERWISE THEIR PEOPLE WILL LITERALLY STARVE AND THEIR INDUSTRIES WILL GRIND TO A HALT

Warning signs of a world war:
:agree: Prelude conflict (Syrian Civil War and Nagorno-Karbakh War)
:agree: Dying empire (The USA and Russia)
:agree: Global calamity (COVID)
:agree: Possible new superpower (China)
:agree: Violence in other regions (Iran)

:?: Secret Alliances and diplomatic intrigue (NATO is the opposite of this because it's well known, not secret).
It's a shame there's no obviously good side this time around. The forces of globohomo against Chinese Technocratic Totalitarianism.

It's all a show. Zelenskyy is running a three ring circus in the media to keep pressure on waffling western governments and rally the moral of his country. And he's proving exceedingly good at it. Nothing concrete will come of it, but that is not really what he is trying to do. Every day he's out there doing his song and dance routine is another day Russia has failed to win. And that in the end is a win for Ukraine.

Russias victory condition is overthrowing Zelenskyy. Ukraines victory condition is avoiding that outcome.

Really depends since both sides can claim propaganda victories as the war develops.

Mariupol isn't getting any help and many thousands of men (maybe 10.000 men) are trapped there and Russia will get a big propaganda victory when Mariupol inevitably surrenders.

Propaganda is such a fickle thing.

He then moved around the ME, we weren't sure where. He then wound up in Pakistan, where we finally caught up with him.
All the intelligence seems to have pointed to the fact that he was suspected to be in Pakistan from 2005-2011, which means he probably didn't jump around the ME. He just spent a few years hidden near the border and moved to the compound when it was built in 2005.

The ones of shooting those left behind after the Biden bullshit videos is some of the most egregiously staged nonsense I've ever seen. No wonder they are bogged down a bit. It was probably some nonce he had on the bed and he was sending it to his ex-wife to make her love him again or some Ukie thot who manipulated him into it. That shit was as ridiculous of military propaganda I've seen since the Gulf of Tonkin. It was beyond laughable.

Probably a promotion in it for him.

I lost all respect for slavs after that.

Whether you're an irregular/ Volkssturm or a top-tier Operator, you are ultimately expendable.
Artillery, rockets and bullets don't give a shit if you're a Delta Force SEAL Ranger who's gotten millions of dollars of training time and the best fucking gear in the universe. The best training and gear will not help you not get blown the fuck up by an MLRS strike or a drone dropping a bomb on your head at 3 AM. The only reason special forces operators have gotten a reputation for being unkillable and nearly always coming home from a mission is because for the past 30 years they've been operating with gear that the dudes on the other side have either never heard of, or couldn't dream of having in their wildest fantasies, with 24/7 CAS and evac available for them at a moment's notice, with constant intel being piped to them from air assets stationed above their AO with FLIR and all sorts of other crap.

And even then you get entire squads of spec ops guys getting schwacked in Africa (forget the country it happened in), Blackhawks going down in Mogadishu, SEALs getting obliterated by a $30 RPG-7 round because their helo was just hovering out in the open.

I'm too old to get drafted (30), have ADHD and Aspergers (disqualifiers?), and a knee that's on the fritz. I have no desire to be killed or maimed for Globochomo's money-laundering hub that resembles a country.

And yet, a small part of me feels obligated to join up (if the US formally enters the fray). Just for the chance to get some adrenaline. To be a part of history. To have something to tell the grandkids.

Well, that's your choice to make. Personally, when the draft calls me up this is what I'll be singing:

"Around 2,100 Armenian soldiers from the Karabakh region are reportedly going to be sent to Ukraine to join/support Russian forces. The units involved are apparently artillery units, SOF and ATGM crews. Most of these guys have military expertise from the 2020 Karabakh war."

This war is starting to look like a convention for everyone in the Caucasus

I don't forsee a surrender in Mariople, at least not in the traditional sense. The fighting may stop but ain't nobody gonna be around to hand over the colors.

I told you niggers. Not being anyone's bitch is a driving force in Indian foreign policy since their independence from Britain. Mexico also told America to lick its frijoles when it comes to sanctions.
