AHHHH'M RAZORFIST, GOD....*snap* FUCKIN-SPEED!
Seriously, that was like a mini-Razor rant. Either you or @thx1138 could take over his channel should he go full lolcow, and nobody would notice.
Unironically, yes. I don't like it that much either. But I digress.Problem is, I don't like heavy metal that much. Do y'all really want me to open and close with the Alan Parsons Project?
I do too and this will be the last time: Sabbath, Maiden, some Judas Priest, even Motorhead? Shit yeah. That screechy stuff from the 80s and 90s though? Fuck that.Unironically, yes. I don't like it that much either. But I digress.
I know one song you can use.Problem is, I don't like heavy metal that much. Do y'all really want me to open and close with the Alan Parsons Project?
How much closer is China to taking over the world? And how much is /pol/ salivating the Woke American Empire taking another hit?So Biden wants to call Saudi Arabia to talk about oil and they refuse to talk to him.
Instead they now announce that they invite Xi to a state visit because they want more than just "you buy oil from us, we buy weapons from you".
the fucking saudis said that! And it is a very obvious jab at Biden. His fuckup with Yemen and Iran has turned the Saudies to go become best friends with China instead.
Jesus, and Trump was who were turning allies against the US.
Before?
I think Biden is done before 2024. He filed, but that means very little if you are on the way out mentally before and are physically uncapable. However, that is counter to what I'm seeing the Dems pull now that all alternatives are fucking even worse.
So who to go for? Kamala like previously said is looking more like a liability because she is dumber than Dubya, and worse electorally, more obnoxious to listen to. Clinton may be starting up her Foundation again to reclaim the DNC throne, but she is also in the same boat as Kamala: losing to Trump by over 7 points nationally, ergo a landslide for orangeman.
So who's left? A blue dog like Manchin or NC's governor Cooper would probably work electorally, but would never win the nomination. Bernie's about dead so the progressive wing has AOC, Warren, and other Squad members, who are complete idiots when confronted by everyday people they are losing. Cooperate Dems like Beta, most Congressmen and others are either too plastic or nobodies (or both) to run.
So unironically I think the plan is to run Joe, load him up with enough meds until his heart explodes, pray that it does before the next presidential election for sympathy points and try to carry that "dead president" sentiment to get them over the finish line, or try to ride him out until he is fucking 90. It won't work, but now that Joe is their only shot, its what makes the most sense to me.
You forget, 2020 rules. And you also forget: the campaign for HR1 and the filibuster. The Democrats are petrified of a Trump, DeSantis, or any Trump type getting close to 270 electoral votes. Or any MAGA people like MTG moving to Congressional seats that can do things like look into Hunter, or unleash an impeachment as retribution for Trump’s two impeachments.Say all you want about Dubya fucking up, but he was actually intelligent. He had been a governor and businessman before he went into office, of course helped by Daddy Bush's money. Kumala just sucked off some guy to get her career started. She's a cheap twenty dollar whore who got where she did by spreading her legs, opening her mouth, and letting her masters do what they pleased with her. Dubya had connections, but Kamala just is a whore who pressed her luck and got in too deep.
They aren't happening, end of story. Far, far too many people haven't been paid off for 2020 still, are unlikely to be paid off, and a lot of RINOS who looked the other way because the Bad Orange Man was a threat to their grift are now sweating because they realize there's nothing stopping the Dems from pulling those electoral shenanigans on them, and the only thing better than controlled opposition is no opposition. You forget, 2020 rules.
Get so drunk that you literally can't concede the election that night. Immediately start up conspiracy theories about Russia supposedly stealing the election. Screech in outrage that everyone thought he was a buffoon and thus DIDN'T have election rigging in place just in case.
I actually listened to the Shapiro/Maher podcast yesterday while doing some yard work. The thing that struck me was that Maher seems like the kind of Democrat you could actually get along with.
He’s certainly to the left of me, but he’s not trying to troon out my kids, realizes that Communism is a pretty shitty system of governance and believes that free speech (not just popular speech) is pretty damned important. It’s not a high bar but he, unlike the modern Democrat party, passes it.
If he was representative of the modern left’s beliefs, we wouldn’t be in nearly as bad of shape as a country
I think they have just about given up. Even Bidens SOTU felt like more of a campaign speech than anything else but even so it fell flat.
It is hard to see while it happens but after the fact it is easy to spot that a change has happened. A lot of the young progressive and energetic always online and always working hard to push the democrat message seems to have lost all enthusiasm and drive. In one of the more super progressive places (Resetera) I saw a thread about Biden wanting to fund the police in his SOTU speech. There were no anger there were no "acab" there were just some weird complete defeat and people posting "So now we are funding the police? Welp, guess I am never voting for anyone ever again".
Similar reactions to his repeated promise at SOTU to bring a "15$ minimum wage".
Even things that would just a year ago would have been a lightningrod and generated a LOT of people tweeting/ retweeting/ protesting for a full week, like the significantly out-of-context CNN push of "Trump said he admires Putin" didn't even get any traction and fell off the news within hours.
This all to me speaks of the progressive and loud engine that pushes the democratic party and the young voters that they have turned their back on not just Biden but to the Democratic Party and to political engagement and voting itself. I don't know how you measure this in polling but I feel there is absolutely a huge trend where all these progressive voters and their energy is completely missing now. Biden will have a tough time come midterms if his base has just given up.
Several months ago somewhat in jest but also quite seriously I suggested that Biden should just re-run with his promises in 2024: "medicare4all, 15$, student-debt-relief, defund the police, etc etc" because the progressives are like goldfish can only think about a single issue at a time and have short memories. @Gehenna corrected me and said these broken promises would not be forgotten but would result in their base just losing interest and motivation and it will cause them to just not show up for voting at all.
I was not sure if he was right or not.
I see now that @Gehenna was right and I was wrong. Biden has completely destroyed any enthusiasm and trust he had from the vocal progressives and they are just no longer going to come and bat for him.
Midterms will be a bloodbath.
Slight PL. A personal anecdote on how much things have changed in the last 12 months. A close friend of mine still works in big-tech in the bay-area. He said that he now sees on internal message boards people publicly with their name saying things like "we have to stop focusing on this progressive bullshit and instead fix the economy and bring the jobs back home", this and similar is said by people that up until recently had serious TDS and were both on the "it is her turn in 2016 and pro-Biden "vote blue no matter who" in 2020.
Even in big-tech in the bay area! people are no longer afraid to flame the progressives or biden, even people with the worst TDS you could imagine just 12 months ago.
Kamala was supposed to be that, especially after Corey Booker flamed out on them (too much baggage in terms of being in Congress long enough to have a past voting record that could be used against him vs Obama, who was in the Senate for a couple of years and came in after the infamous Iraq war vote that has long been weaponized against the DNC Congressmen who made the craven decision to vote for war) and the rumors that Stacy Abrams has skeletons in her closet that made it impossible for Biden to pick her.I'm betting that the Dems get some random non-white senator for 2024 and try to pull another Obama. Not sure if it will work again, though, and really it does not necessarily have to be non-white. They *honk honk* got 81 million voots for an old white dude after all. Would've been the same *honk* if his VP was the same.
Dems and progs might talk the "whitey bad" and "men bad" talk, but they don't always walk the walk: they would 100% vote for yet another old coot white dude if they had to pick between that and a POC Republican woman.
I thought she rather openly hated AOC. With AOC recently losing her status of cream of the crap -- the leader of the squad or whatever. Something about some exceptionally stupid political move that even the squad left AOC hanging on? Voting against Israel or something?
Biden actually DID try to run a primary against Hillary and had his flunkies leak stories about how Beau's "dying wish" was for his dad to run for President and "stop Hillary and Bill from demanding the nomination be handed to them on a silver platter without anyone else having a shot at it".Hillary Clinton wanted to make damn sure that there wasn't going to be another Barack Obama to fuck up her 2016 run. Why do you think Biden didn't try after Obama? He'd have had the star power.
For a lot of people on the left having Voter ID is a form of voter suppression due to the Kafka-esque nightmare that is getting government ID.I noticed that Bill Maher has no issues with Voter ID but could not define voter suppression if he has no issues with Voter ID.

If leftists weren't post-modernists, the cognitive dissonance would cause them physical pain. But since they're post-modernists, they literally hold themselves to the standard that discussion and debate is just a power struggle, and as long as they can silence or overpower you, even outside of the debate, that means they won the debate. "Doesn't matter, jackboots silenced you for me." It's literally religious thinking.I remember during the lead-up to the 2020 election, we had people unironically telling us that the reason that voter ID laws were somehow racist was because it constituted a poll tax.
That argument makes absolutely no sense in and of itself, but dies entirely when subjected to the "you should have a vax card for everything" canard.
I have two freezers full of turkeys, chickens, and other meats. I have a generator for power to run said freezers in case power goes out (but now question how I can afford to keep enough gas on hand to run it long term?).
There is no way to break this thought process, by the way. Your only way is to find the non-religious leftists and moderates and force the change through. The leftists will go to their dying breath screaming about how you cannot violate the holy scriptures of things they pulled out of their ass.
“A person who was demoralized is unable to assess true information. The facts tell nothing to him. Even if I shower him with information, with authentic proof, with documents, with pictures; even if I take him by force to the Soviet Union and show him [a] concentration camp, he will refuse to believe it, until he [receives] a kick in his fan-bottom. When a military boot crashes his balls then he will understand. But not before that. That’s the [tragedy] of the situation of demoralization.”
It has nothing whatsoever to do with religious thought or creed. It is simply egotistic tyranny disguised as something egalitarian to hoodwink the people. If leftists weren't post-modernists, the cognitive dissonance would cause them physical pain. Why are Voter ID laws racist? That's the wrong question. The religious assumption is that no barrier to voting can be allowed (unspoken reason: because barriers to voting make it harder if not impossible to cheat). That is the unchangeable, permanent conclusion. You work backwards from there to find justifications and rationales.
No barrier to voting can be allowed -> there are blacks involved -> a barrier would be racist because blacks are too stupid to know where the DMV is -> we can't have voter ID because it would be racist against black people.
Point out they clearly know where the DMV is and can get ID? Ok, reticulating splines:
No barrier to voting can be allowed -> there are blacks involved -> a barrier would be racist because it would cost money and voting is supposed to be free -> charging blacks money even if you charge everyone money is racist -> we can't have voter ID because it would be racist against black people.
Make the IDs free? Or counter some other of an infinite maze of twisty little false logic statements, all alike?
No barrier to voting can be allowed -> SYSTEM ERROR -> "FUCK YOU YOU RACIST NAZI FASCIST! We won't let you because just absolutely fucking because!"
Why can't we do X? Because it violates the religious tenant of Y. Every excuse, justification, and twisted pretzel logic to explain why we can't do X (or rather, can't violate Y) is literally insane money gibberish. Once you realize there are certain tenants that the left takes as holy scripture, unbreakable truths that the very world must twist around to conform to, even if those tenants are completely fucking wrong, and they'll do whatever it takes to keep those tenants safe - logic, reason, and facts be damned, well, things make a lot more sense. Drilling down through the madness to find the unassailable "truth" that the leftist is defending is great fun, too, as it lets you predict the madness, to a point.

Once you realize the leftists literally are a political religion, everything makes a lot more sense. Unfortunately, I don't really know how to deprogram cult members, especially when they have the backing of the entire media apparatus, all of academia, most corporations, and every unelected government official.
Maybe next time the leftists try to bomb us into a marxist revolution, we will follow them into academia and put them and their cathedrals to the sword rather than let them brainwash generations of our children.

McGovern seemed like an alright guy, kinda like Jimmy Carter. It's still a massive abuse of power to pull a Watergate, especially when it goes unpunished like Obama and Clinton's actionsRichard Nixon did nothing wrong when it came to watergate. He had every right to spy on these fuckers.
All Washington learned from Nixon was to make sure that other presidents didn't get charged for something like that; no way in hell Obama and Nixon were the only presidents that used that power.McGovern seemed like an alright guy, kinda like Jimmy Carter. It's still a massive abuse of power to pull a Watergate, especially when it goes unpunished like Obama and Clinton's actions
helps to be born rich, but yes never smoking, drinking, consuming caffine or partaking in seed oils, and always using sun screen is literally what experts say to do to stop aging. Which does bring up the question of why you never see many good looking mormons, or mormons that age well.Romney's 74... Political sins are fountain of youth for Mormons, I guess.
Aye, it's not sarcastically called scientism for no reason. It's not religious thought. It's a religious thought process.
Look at every woke piece of shit out there. You can't change their mind on things, because they hold those beliefs as a religious belief -- unflinching, unchanging. They work backwards from there to justify it. Logic and reason need not apply.
America's racist, white people are evil, black people are victims, gender exists. Show them a racist black person and they will literally flinch and look away because it doesn't fit the framework of their religion. Point out they have historical facts about America wrong and they will literally shout over you to prevent you from speaking.
She's staying out of the spotlight because she doesn't want to be associated with Biden literally and figuratively shitting the bed. Her campaign is going to be entirely "Oh if only I had been president the last 8 years, none of this would have happened but it's not too late!"I don't see the signs at all that she's seriously positioning herself for 2024. That sounds like a desperate media wishcasting. They may be on board for some more election season profiteering with the Foundation spinning up again, but she's stayed out of the spotlight for the most part and what noises they've been making look more like just desperate fundraising to keep their legacy from being completely blown up by Biden's incompetence.
