I don't see the signs at all that she's seriously positioning herself for 2024. That sounds like a desperate media wishcasting. I actually listened to the Shapiro/Maher podcast yesterday while doing some yard work. The thing that struck me was that Maher seems like the kind of Democrat you could actually get along with.

He’s certainly to the left of me, but he’s not trying to troon out my kids, realizes that Communism is a pretty shitty system of governance and believes that free speech (not just popular speech) is pretty damned important. It’s not a high bar but he, unlike the modern Democrat party, passes it.

Sinema's political career is over. It's Arizona, so Republicans aren't forced to hope the least bad Democrat gets elected, and her support among her Dem constituents is at rock bottom. Supporting Manchin was great on her part but she's never getting invited to cocktail parties in D.C. again.

As I understand it, the GOP would shatter into their own civil war - once the playing field becomes "Uniparty losers" vs "Trumpian Populists" there'd be nothing left to do but fight that out. The uniparty would see itself as trying to slow things down and stabilize what would likely be a very pained country with the collapse of an organized left, and the populists would see it as an opportunity to push radical change.

It likely wouldn't be a good time for anyone involved. Political destabilizations like that never are, even if the collapsing group is objectively awful in its own rights.

2023-2024 is going to be a 2-year interregnum period essentially, which means it will be a great time for both parties to work on settling their internal rivalries; not just the Democrats.

At least with the Republicans there's only two factions and they're both clearly delineated. Either you're a Trump-aligned populist, or you're a decrepit centenerian swamp faggot who fucks ISIS brides. Democrats have 3-4 factions with members frequently jumping ship from the game altogether or switching sides, and after midterms there might be even more factions.

I think Biden is done before 2024. He filed, but that means very little if you are on the way out mentally before and are physically uncapable. However, that is counter to what I'm seeing the Dems pull now that all alternatives are fucking even worse.

So who to go for? Kamala like previously said is looking more like a liability because she is dumber than Dubya, and worse electorally, more obnoxious to listen to. Clinton may be starting up her Foundation again to reclaim the DNC throne, but she is also in the same boat as Kamala: losing to Trump by over 7 points nationally, ergo a landslide for orangeman.

So who's left? A blue dog like Manchin or NC's governor Cooper would probably work electorally, but would never win the nomination. Bernie's about dead so the progressive wing has AOC, Warren, and other Squad members, who are complete idiots when confronted by everyday people they are losing. Cooperate Dems like Beta, most Congressmen and others are either too plastic or nobodies (or both) to run.

So unironically I think the plan is to run Joe, load him up with enough meds until his heart explodes, pray that it does before the next presidential election for sympathy points and try to carry that "dead president" sentiment to get them over the finish line, or try to ride him out until he is fucking 90.
