This is very true, and it's reflected in his brand loyalty. The CWCki has a great article on it. That's why Chris doesn't really understand advertising -- he thinks advertising is promoting a product because it's good, not because you're just getting paid to promote it.
I think the best example of Chris' view of loyalty to a consumer brand is when he thought he could get the yellow shirted foe in trouble for having two jobs. While Best Buy and Gamestop do compete, I don't know if they'd care enough to fire an employee for working at the other store too.
I mean, I've met people who had two restaurant jobs.
CWCville which is somehow both in the state of Virginia, yet has its own governance wildly different from Virginia's. I wish we could figure out if he thinks that Virginia's laws don't apply in CWCville, or if he thinks that all cities are fiefdoms run with absolute authority by their mayor, in some sort of medieval tribute arrangement to the Governor who acts as king.
They assuredly do not give a shit, at least at the store level. Obviously they would not want someone being an executive in both but they don't care who is ringing stuff up at the counter.
True 100%. CWC never showed any real interest in any place outside of Virginia or his home. Even if he was retarded if he was genuinely interested in real things he could’ve picked them up.
With the date Bob went to chaperone. He explained Chris doesn't understand countries. All Chris has ever known is the Ruckersville area. It's literally his entire world. He can't comprehend with his retard brain the vastness of the world or the complexity of governments. Such as the time he thought Pandahalo died from the Austrilia fires because to Chris. Australia to him is a city. Not a huge ass country that spans hundreds of hectares. This is why his mall design is terrible because Chris doesn't understand the concept of space and accessibility.
The same applies to the "city" of CWCville which runs almost independently from the rest of the states. For pointless sperg it acts more of a city-state. Which almost no longer exists due to de jure? (I don't know the modern or equivalent name. In other words a title belonging to a faction) since governmental bodies can control large swathes of land. Citiy states lost their power. I think really the only city state that still exists is the Vatican. Could CWCville work? Technically it can. It'd just be very stupid and I doubt no state would give up such power to be equals for many reasons.
Chris can't comprehend differences with any level of understanding more than just surface obvious things, Chris has a very retarded but very American understanding of the world i.e. If he goes to another State it works mostly the same as it does where he is and he doesn't have to really be concerned about the intricacy of local laws, customs or language.
I'll give you a basic example in the US not tipping is an insult, in the UK Tipping is thought of as a reward for good service, Japan it's considered an insult.
The problem with Chris is he can't understand abstract concepts, he can understand a surface level of appearance and anything that directly effects him personally but the idea things are different eleseware he can't really understand, he knows it's colder in Winter so he wares a coat but he can't understand that the Winder in America is Summer in Australia, especially if shown a video of Christmas day of people having a nice time on the beach etc, it's just a level of understanding he can't grasp, you might send him there saying Go to Australia for Christmas on a fully payed trip and he's pack his winter clothing.
Chris isn't like most people, to him Reality is what he can see and increasingly what he thinks is real, you can show Chris proof that his imagination isn't real He'll just find a way of justifying it to himself, it's far deeper than that but we're at a point he can't understand anything he can't directly experience.
Best description I can think of is this -
If your working from a limited set of information, and are then given some new facts you are able to accept you change your worldview accordingly, I've been told by Astronauts that seeing the world at once puts the whole universe into perspective for you, but for someone Like Chris? He'd ask to be pointed towards Virginia and try and sky dive.
Lilly is someone who was hoping to see the earth, she was panicking but managed to realise she just had her whole reality changed and legitimately had evidence of the fact before her eye's and in her hands, Chris could be driving down a road get abducted by aliens and told here are the plans for a limitless source of energy written in any language your mathematicians will understand get probed and dropped off and then use the paper for comic stuff.
The problem for Chris is he can't understand improvement, he's never really had to - He always had achivements handed to him on some level and he expects the accolades he see's others getting them for genuine achievement gets gelious but doest have an aspiration to do better he just expects to be given it for his level of attainment.
At his core Chris can't understand better, to him he is the best he has nothing to prove as he's the best and will always be the best any improvement he has just proves his genius, it doesnt matter what Art or Craft Chris picks up he's automatically the best after a short period of time because it's him doing it, he also can't understand that there is a different way of doing something because he only knows one way of doing it, and that there might be far better ways of doing anything in a place that isn't him doing it.
